Chilly wet Shelby, needed some cuddle time to warm up after too long in the rain.... I've been missing a few days - we're back in our routine of 4 days at the lake & 4 days home, so I'll post when I can and catch up with comments later today. Hope all is well with all of you! 05.22.15

Friday, May 22, 2015 "COLOR BURST RAINBOW" “Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.” ~ Mark Twain Here's another one of my "artistic creations" and this week's entry for Judy's (aka fotoeffects) "Lexicon Challenge" (Week 2 of 4). As an aside, I don't recall which "before" photo this was post processed from, because I didn't copy the link before I started working on it. I sure regret that; it's the first time it has happened, nevertheless, a lesson learned. A Lexicon is an unfamiliar word for a familiar item, object, or thing. The lexicon for this photo is "POLYCHROMATIC," (adj.) which, according to my Lexicon Dictionary, is defined as: (a) Multicolored. (b) Having or exhibiting a variety of colors. Examples of "Polychromatic Art" are here: https://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images;_ylt=AwrBT7rkQVtVYLkAa79XNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTEzZnJsdGs3BGNvbG8DYmYxBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDVklQNjE2XzEEc2VjA3Nj?p=Polychromatic%2F&fr=mcafee Finally, thanks for perusing, commenting on, and/or giving a thumbs up yesterday on my collage titled, "The Life of Riley" - In Memoriam of Guitar Genius and Blues Legend B.B. King." Despite the blatant disgruntlement of a pair of senescent "Drama Queens" (TA and TG), it was the #1 photo all day, baby - all day! Remember that strife, jealousy, envy, bitterness, variance, and unmanaged anger are just a few egregious diseases; so, get well soon! Oh Happy Friday! 05-22-2015 "Cerulean" Lexicon challenge - cerulean - deep blue sky I couldn't believe how blue the sky was the other night at Sutton's softball game. I knew I could use is as a daily post and then realized it fit in the challenge. Your comments and critiques are always welcome and appreciated. Donna
Blif is eager to learn, but as a puppy he also like to play and test our patience. Today we had a 3 km walk on the beach without leach but with lots of tidbits. the only incident was when we met another dog. then all education was forgotten. Well the other dog was friendly and they played around for a time and then he joined me again
Day 141: USS San Antonio - May 21. Another shot of the USS San Antonio from yesterday. Here she has reached the NYC midtown area and is about to reach her temporary Fleet Week space.. She was guided into the port, near to the Intrepid Museum, by tugboats. Some of the ships participating in Fleet Week will have times slotted for visitors to visit and have tours of the ship.
Day 142: US Air Force Thunderbirds NYC - May 22. Happy Memorial Day weekend!! A shot of six U.S. Air Force F-16 Thunderbirds in the skies over the Hudson River as part of a flyover around New York City. Thanks to all who commented on my USS San Antonio in NYC posts.

It is rare to get a chance to see blossoms of this plant (Asarum canadense, Canadian wild ginger). They appear close to the ground, beneath a canopy of the plant's leaves. This was a hot day, and the leaves were drooping on their stalks, exposing the flowers. Adding to that was the slight slope to the ground which made it possible to position the camera at about the same level as the flowers. DP141-2015 Posted Thursday, May 21 Taken May 18, Nichols Arboretum, Ann Arbor. Title: Wild Ginger Blossoms - Usually hidden under the leaves Don't forget tomorrow's (Friday's) Lexicon challenge, week #2. Have a little fun and join in. Thanks for all the kind comments to recent posts to the DailyPhotos community. All are very much appreciated.
