They come and they go. Some are clear, some cloudy. Few are perfectly straight; many are distinctly weird in shape. Watching them is one of winter's pleasures. March 5, 2015 I'm a self-admitted shoe & boot nut. No excuses, it's a disease I've had for years. This summer I went to Gruene, TX to meet former Smug friends Kathy (Lady Kate's) Clarke and Hillary Shemin to enjoy The Mavericks in concert at Gruene Hall. Gruene Hall is the oldest continuously operating dance hall in Texas. Opened in 1878. The next day I had time to roam around the town of Gruene. I wandered into a boot store, saw these boots, loved them and was going to buy a pair, but alas they didn't have my size. Darn! But I did find another really cool pair to buy. Perhaps someday when I'm wearing that pair, I'll take a photo and post it for ya'll to see. "Being from Texas, I would say I favor a pair of jeans you can wear some boots with." ~ Jensen Ackles Thank you for your comments & critiques. Have a beautiful day today my friends! Northern Cardinal - another import to Hawaii but a bird I've always wanted to see. Taken on Maui. I really appreciate the comments!
March 5, 2015 Sometimes we have to stand alone.
Thursday, March 5, 2015 "STAGECOACH" "Improving the stagecoach, you can create the perfect coach, but never a first-class car." ~ Edward de Bono Throwback Thursday...... I was awaken by the sounds of ice hitting the window, so I decided to post my photo for today. I peered out of the window and there is lots of snow! The weather forecaster predicted that we would get snow. If you recall, I mentioned that we got 4-5 inches of snow last Wednesday. Now, back to my "Christmas in Arizona" 2014 series....... Known as “Arizona’s country town,” Dewey-Humboldt was formed in 2004 as a merger of two neighboring communities in the Agua Fria River Valley. The combination brought the rich farming culture of Dewey together with Humboldt, a mining community. "Dewey-Humboldt is a town in Yavapai County, Arizona, United States. The population of the town was 3,894 according to the 2010 census. The Dewey-Humboldt area was a census-designated place at the 2000 census, at which time its population was 6,295." ~ Reprinted from Wikipedia Hang in there; tomorrow is Friday! Bunmaster , could be his name! I think he is getting fatter everyday. I threw these dry buns out last night but cut them in half so they would be a better size for little paws. This was taken an hour ago. Rob read that these critters get very hungry in hard Winters like this one ,so handouts are needed. Going down to -17 tonight but a decent temperature right now. 05/03/15 God's Child, I know how crazy those weather patterns must be for your MS heat because ours' is quite out of the ordinary too.

March 5. Iced over bushes will be covered in white today. Expecting 10 inches of snow today.
03.05.15 Happy Birthday me (yesterday) Thanks for the awesome comments on the Hit-and-Run Snowman picture. I made a carrot cake for my birthday. I sort of used my mom's recipe. Sometimes she would add a can of drained crushed pineapple. I did that. I've been experimenting with substitutions for sugar and/or oil/shortening in recipes. This time I substituted with apple sauce and a ripe banana. This was the best carrot cake I've ever had. Now I need to figure out how to make a healthier cream cheese frosting.
Winter Mar 5 It is March but winter still has a cold grip on much of the U.S.
