Homing in on a fish #2 (best largest) Common black hawk (Buteogallus anthracinus), homes in on a fish on the Pixaim River, Pantanal, Brazil. This hawk flew a little slower than the Black collared hawk that was lightening fast and so hard to capture. My D810 at 1/3200 sec and 6 fps was able to keep up with this hawk and gave me some nice sequences of shots. Saturday, December 27, 2014 "PURPLE FOUNTAIN GRASS" “Knowing trees, I understand the meaning of patience. Knowing grass, I can appreciate persistence.” ~ Hal Borland "Of all the ornamental grasses, of which there are many, purple fountain grass (aka Pennisetum setaceum ‘Rubrum’) is probably one of the most popular. The purple or burgundy-colored foliage and soft, fuzzy-like blooms (which are followed by purplish seedheads) make a bold statement in the garden—on their own or grouped with other plantings. Growing purple fountain grass is easy and requires little maintenance once established." ~ Reprinted text from here: http://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/foliage/purple-fountain-grass/grow-purple-fountain-grass.htm Have a great weekend!
