Red barn boards gleam in the early spring air!
30JAN2012 I have been a little under the weather lately, this is a shot I got from the Indianola balloon festival in Indianola Iowa, it was one of the first images I shot with my first digital camera. I had purchased a five hundred roll pack of film a year prior to this shot and had just run out of film. Paul jr. found the camera in St louis and went and got it for us and off to the races we went.....The camera doesn't fell good in my hand yet but heck I shot almost five thousand frames with that old film camera......hope I get more like this, hope you enjoy it! I don't have photoshop....background is real, looking toward the North, real hazy out, sun is in and out of the clouds right at sunset, thanks for asking! I was not in a balloon, they are the last ones up and out...real distinctive crafts, almost like the ones used to go around the world, haven't seen many of this type before this event. You don't see many with animals on the sides either... #1 picture 30JAN2012
"Heavenly Swing" “The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch swing with, never say a word, then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation that you ever had.”~Anonymous~
September 23, 2007 Fog in the forest.
Thursday, July 24, 2014 "FANCY FREE" "Before the truth can set you free, you need to recognize which lie is holding you hostage." ~ Unknown Author SOOC, uncropped, flash didn't fire And yet, here's another flirty and whimsical flower. It was photographed in the front yard of the same residence as the previous two flower photos I've posted. I have wonderful neighbors, and not just because they allow me to take photos of whatever I deem photo op worthy in their respective yards:). NOTE: 7:24 AM update - I see that my previous post of the "Antique Chevy" (Sunday, May 15, 2011) is reappearing today in the DPC. I wish whomever thumbed it would post a comment; but, I am not sweating the small stuff. Free yourself and hang in there; tomorrow is Friday! ***#14 photo of the day*** (photo taken 6/17/2014) My Homepage: www.godschild.smugmug.com
Wednesday, July 23, 2014 "BRING ON THE BRIGHTS" "Every beautiful flower must grow through dirt." ~ Anonymous SOOC, uncropped, flash didn't fire Recently, there have been lots of "Flower Power" photos posted in the DPC. It's definitely that time of year when an array of colorful blooms are everywhere. Here's another photo (daylilies and buds) taken in the same front yard as yesterday's flower photo. Isn't this such an array of colors? And I do love colors! Have a wonderful Wednesday! ***#9 photo of the day*** (photo taken 6/17/2014) My Homepage: www.godschild.smugmug.com
July 27, 2014 * Sunday Logo Challenge "Post a Symbol/Icon without the Company Name or Clues" There are 3 possible answers: 1 I know the symbol and the company. 2 I have seen the symbol but can’t connect it. 3 I have never seen this symbol before. Link to answer in the comments :)

11/05/09 - Historic Yates Mill Pond at Sunset I posted a picture of the actual water wheel in my gallery earlier this year. In this picture, you can't see the wheel, but you get this lovely reflection instead. After Joey's flu shot, I decided to make the best of a wonderful afternoon and go for a quick hike around the mill pond. Unfortunately, we were really there a good 30-60 minutes too late to be taking good pictures. I had to bump up the saturation on this one to improve the color. This is the same shot taken on 10/26 last year when the sun was better and the tree closest to the mill still had yellow leaves on it. http://fotomom.smugmug.com/Yates-Mill-Pond/Yates-Mill-Photo-Contest-2009/7088136_34LZC#454338880_TdGL2 In both cases, the sky looks better in the reflection than in the final shot. I'm not sure how to get around that...especially in last night's picture when the sky really didn't have much blue in it. We still have not had a frost or freeze at my house, but it look like it's coming Friday night into Saturday. I am storing ceramic bird baths and pots and taking in fragile plants that I can save. I sure wish today was Friday... HAGD, Maryann
5-18: Sorry for no comments today - Melanie (my wife) had me doing chores almost all day long :( I'll try to catch up soon. We were driving by a farm near Lions Park natural area north of Fort Collins and this section of fence caught my eye. I think those little glowing round things are dandelion seed puff things.
Blif is a little annoyed to be distracted by a photographer
Boats on the Velikaya River bank. (6.11.2011) Sorry I didn't have time to comment yesterday. Hope everyone has a relaxing weekend.
