January 29, 2015 There was a bit of a haze in the air the day that I took this photo somewhere on the west coast of the USA during one of our many "driving" vacations. But I am doing my best to keep my boat steady and my sails full." ~ Arthur Ashe Have a "sails full" sort of day today my friends. Linda http://lgood.smugmug.com

Each of the so-called Royal Parks near Buckingham Palace (Hyde Park, Green Park, and St. James Park) has a unique history and character. One of the charms of St. James Park is the glimpses it affords of some of the surrounding attractions, mingled with views of the lake and the abundant resident waterfowl. This is a view to the east, across the lake, toward the famous, or infamous, London Eye Ferris wheel, with its viewing pods. In between, out of sight, is the Thames, which flows S-N along this stretch.. St. James Park is the oldest of the Royal Parks, dating to the start of the reign of King James I, in 1603. The London Eye was opened for visitors in 2000. As of this year, 2015, it is to be known officially as the Coca-Cola London Eye. Egads! DP029-2015 Posted Thursday, January 29; processed ditto Look closely and you'll see two swans on the lake, and beyond the screen of trees, some pedestrians, probably on Horse Guard Rd. They add a little size perspective. I wish I had captured the full reflection of the 'Eye', but it was too late to go back and redo it by the time I realized my mistake.
