05.25.15 Sherman Tank Sculptor: LeRoy Transfield Springville has a small Veteran's Memorial at the city cemetery. This is one of about ten bronze sculptures that were created to honor our Veterans. Today is a day set aside for remembering those who died while serving our country. I decided to post this tank sculpture.
05-25-2015 "Happy Memorial Day" Sutton, my sister and I went to arrange flowers on my brother-in-law's grave. He served in the Navy and was a World War II and Korean War veteran. The cemetery had flags posted at every veteran's grave. It was an amazing sight. Without the bravery of men and women who have fought and are fighting for our country we would not have our freedom. Thank you for your service. Thank you for comments on my photos. Donna
Unforgettable May 25 U.S. Memorial Day ... Thanks to all who sacrificed for our freedoms.
Remembering Our Heroes... Memorial Day 2015 "True heroism is remarkably sober, very undramatic. It is not the urge to surpass all others at whatever cost, but the urge to serve others at whatever cost." Arthur Ashe July 10, 1943 – February 6, 1993 There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends. Monday, May 25, 2015 "MEMORIAL DAY" 2015 "Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned our undying gratitude. America will never forget their sacrifices." ~ President Harry S. Truman Here's another one of my "artistic creations" and I had so much fun designing and creating it. Elmer Davis declared, "This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave." This is a memoriam to all of the military "heroes and sheroes" who made the ultimate sacrifice for America. Remember, we promised them that we wouldn't forget, ever. Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday observed each year on the last Monday of May. Formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. soldiers who died while in the military service. It was first enacted to honor Union soldiers of the American Civil War, and was extended after World War I to honor Americans who have died in all wars. God, bless America. America, bless God! February 24. Re yesterdays "Bus route to nowhere" several of you asked whether the bus sign is real. It is. But the bus is not going to England but it is a regular route on the beach going from north to south 12 km of our small island to the small town, Sonderho. The tracks to the water is owed to a amber-collector driving to the waterfront. In summertime the beach is 800 m broad and many tourists drive along it. On today's picture you can spot a bus sign near the top of the dune
