Meet the Caladium family, caught before drying out from the indoor rain at the conservatory. Wikipedia says there are now 1000 known cultivars of Caladium bicolor plants. IHNC which of the 1000 this is. DP234-2014 Posted August 22; processed ditto Just a quick grab and process from a batch I took yesterday at Matthaei Botanical Gardens. Too hot, humid, and threatening (storms) to go far afield. Tropical House of the Conservatory Taken August 21, 2014 Title: Papa Leaf, Mama Leaf, and Baby Leaf
"Last Days of Summer" Thursday was doing my walk and notice the park was quite empty. Just saw two small boys fishing. Baseball fields were empty no kids playing. I know school starts Monday.

21.08.14 - Icons Well I finally got to photograph the last two surviving Lancaster bombers together over Lincoln, and to add to the occasion the last surviving Vulcan led the formation. They were joined by a Hawk trainer on the left here. This is actually a composite, I took the wide shot of the city under that dramatic sky, and then switched to a longer lens to get closer shots of the aircraft. As it happens the formation was quite wide and this is a realistic representation of what we saw. The Canadian Lancaster "Vera" is on the right as you look, and I'm hoping to photograph them together again before she returns across the Atlantic in September.
8/22/14 - Strip-Tz Modified 1927 Fort T Roadster; I loved the paint job on this roadster! Thanks for your warm response to my shot of the Ford hood ornament! I'm glad so many of you liked it.
August 22, 2014 If you ever make it to Lancaster or any Amish/Mennonite area, find your way to a chicken BBQ, you will not be disappointed.
Friday, August 22, 2014 "BROMELIADS" "Don't worry and don't be in a hurry. Those who walk with God always reach their destination on time and in His time. A delay is not a denial." ~ Unknown Author SOOC, uncropped; 35mm lens; flash fired "Bromeliads are members of a plant family known as Bromeliaceae (bro-meh-lee-AH-say-eye). The family contains over 3000 described species in approximately 56 genera. The most well known bromeliad is the pineapple. The family contains a wide range of plants including some very un-pineapple like members such as Spanish Moss (which is neither Spanish nor a moss). Other members resemble aloes or yuccas while still others look like green, leafy grasses." "In general, they are inexpensive, easy to grow, require very little care, and reward the grower with brilliant, long lasting blooms and ornamental foliage. They come in a wide range of sizes from tiny miniatures to giants. They can be grown indoors in cooler climates and can also be used outdoors where temperatures stay above freezing." ~ Reprinted texts from here: http://www.bsi.org/brom_info/what.html Oh Happy Friday! I know you might be getting sick of my beach shots but I'll explain this one. Gods Child: see the little building with wedding party attire in the lighthouse canteen. Flowers growing in the grassy areas beside the roadway. Beach lovers ,all intent on enjoying the water. The man with dog had two little guys but one loved to swim to fetch his stick!
