If Wunderground is to be believed, we'll be having overcast and even rainy weather, including unseasonably warm temperatures, for the next six days. The past two days were the same. Sunshine like this is but a distant memory. At least I can have it on my computer monitor . . . DP126-2015 Posted Wednesday, May 6. Taken April 17, 2015 at Hidden Lake Gardens, Michigan Title: Artificial Sunlight for a Gray Day - Nodding Daffodils
Another reflection of the Big Wheel
One eye open and one ear cocked Jaguar resting on the banks of the Rio Ciuaba, Pantanal, Brazil Jaguars are threatened throughout much of their range, but along the banks of the Rio Cuiaba and its tributaries is it still possible to catch site of these magnificent creatures as they come to the river to hunt for caiman and capybara, some of their favorite food. Several photos of this big male jaguar in different poses can be seen here: http://goo.gl/hSdqWh 06/05/15 www.allenfotowild.com

Wednesday, May 6, 2015 "TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK" 2015 "The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.” ~ William Ward This week (May 4-8, 2015) is National Teacher Appreciation Week. Those of you who have been a member of the dailies for a while know that both of my parents and an aunt are retired educators. Also, my grandmother and an aunt (both deceased) were retired educators. Currently, I have a sister, first cousin, and a few associates who are educators. Teachers make all other professions possible; yet, oftentimes, they are the most overlooked, underrated, unappreciated, and underpaid. Perhaps, Valerie Strauss of The Washington Post said it best: "Imagine if we celebrated teachers as much as we celebrate athletes and celebrities." Thank a teacher today! January 8. My daily surroundings. Deers come visiting us every day.
May 3, 2011 A little break from the car photos today. This is a shot of some Hackberry Emperor Butterflies on some shrubs outside our house. We are just covered with these little butterflies and they love the blooms on this shrub. Papa, help me out with the name of this shrub. These lovely little butterflies are not the only bugs in our yard, we have "June Bugs" everywhere (not sure that's their real name) but they are like little brown, kamokazi bugs that throw themselves violently into the doors & windows of the house. The June Bugs dive into the doors & windows every night for the last 2 nights. They are everywhere & nasty little buggers. I'd like more of these pretty little butterflies please - no more nasty June bugs. Best viewed in X2. PP is Topaz spicify filter - it's fast becoming one of my favorites. Hope you enjoy these pretty little butterflies! Best Regards, Linda
This is a beautiful 1963 Thunderbird. I love the reflections in the front left bumper and the center panel. She is a beauty & loved her green original paint. I was going to make this a Daily later in the week, but it slipped out and got some comments before I could hide it, so I decided to leave it and here it is. Believe me, I LOVE the comments - thanks so very, very much. Hope you enjoy! Linda
Without the bluebonnets Just outside Marble Falls, the area around this deserted house usually explodes with bluebonnets -- just not this year.
05.05.15 - Dog and Blossom Just a quick shot of Willis and some cherry blossom. I'd hoped to be able to throw some in the air and get a shot of it falling over him, but he didn't co-operate :)
