Day 208: NY Skyline-Twilight Sunstars - July 29. No spectacular golden hour transformation yesterday but lots of little sunburst glints sparkling off windows as the sun went down and twilight approached. Had some fun with Topaz star filter to highlight them.

07.29.14 Indigo. Today. Showing off her BLING! Each item pinned onto Indigo represents love. A prayer. A get well wish. Positive thoughts. A miracle. I can always use more BLING! However. Today. We got wonderful news. My tumor is gone. The lymph nodes are not swollen. Yes, the doctor said, "The tumor is gone. It is no longer there and your lymph nodes are not swollen either." YAY! That does not mean this battle is over. I still have three more Taxol chemo infusions. I still have surgery followed by radiation. I still have five years of drug therapy and a lifetime of mammograms. But the chemo is doing what we wanted it to do. It dissolved the tumor. In New Mexico the doctors felt my move was possibly not going to be a good thing. They knew I had no choice though. So I moved here. Praying that I would be blessed..... and I have been. Thank you. Everyone. For your love and prayers. ....and BLING! It on!
7/29/2014 ~ First Light Dawn over the Cade's Cove area of Smoky Mountain National Park, TN. Last month I spent four days at the Cade's Cove campground at SMNP. Every morning we were up before dawn to wait for the Cade's Cove Loop to open. Like most places, the crack of dawn is magical in Cade's Cove. The critters of the night are heading home to their dens and burrows, the birds are waking up and taking flight, the light is soft and golden. Mist and fog fills the valleys and touches the mountain peaks. Thank you for the lovely comments on yesterday's shot of the bronze crypt door!

07-29-2014 "Sweetheart Roses" This year my sweetheart roses are really blooming and growing. They add such a burst of color to my garden. I appreciate your comments on my photos. The last couple of days and this week I will not be able to comment like I want on your photos. There is a lot going on right now. I'll try to keep up. Donna

10-29-12 Berries. Thank you for welcoming me into this community yesterday and for all your kind and encouraging comments!
Everyone seems to be posting pictures of purple coneflowers (Echinacea purpurea), so I decided to add my take on this popular, photogenic flower. Heaven knows, I've taken lots of photos of it, not just this year, but every chance I get. DP202-2014 Posted July 21; processed July 20. I know I could have cloned out the orange top of the flower in the lower right, but in the end, I decided I kind of liked it there. It reminds me that I was photographing a large patch of this particular species, and not just a few isolated stalks. You can see part of the patch here (http://smu.gs/1yPwDRz) and a blossom plus bee close-up here ( http://smu.gs/1yPwVYC ) Traffic flow island, Matthaei Botanical Gardens, Ann Arbor Taken July 18, 2014 Title: Getting in on the Act Yesterday's logo challenge was fun, but I mistakenly thought my own entry would be easy to guess. Next week I might err on the side of the super obvious.
Happy 24th Birthday to my beautiful daughter EmmaClaire. (Photo taken march 2014) Life with Miss Emma has been an adventure since I went into labor with this girl. She looks more like me, but is a clown like her dad. In this photo: Emma, far front right, her dad Craig. Back, Jeddy, Mary and Spencer.

Two kinds of reflection, really. The obvious kind, with clouds and trees reflected in the near dead calm river on a cool summer morning. But also the kind of contemplative thoughts such a scene might trigger in an onlooker who has no desire, and no pressing need to be anywhere else. DP209-2014 Posted July 28; processed July 27 from a photo taken July 26. The Huron River at Gallup Park, Ann Arbor, Michigan Title: Reflections
July 29, 2014 Adventures on the beach (spring 2014) I have been reviewing some unprocessed photos and this was one I liked from one of our trips to the gulf
