August 20, 2014 As mentioned, Golden, TX is a small (pop 197) town in East Texas. The Domino Grill is in one of the three buildings in Golden. The restaurant has two dominoes tables that look like they get a lot of use. Most towns in the south have places where the men get together and play dominoes, some weekly some monthly. I remember my dad and grandfather playing dominoes. The clinking and sliding of the dominoes brings back wonderful memories. Thank you for your comments yesterday. I had appointments most of the day and didn't get to comment much. I will try to catch up today. Enjoy the day! Jeanne
Greenery in late sunshine! This stand of cat tails , teasel and wild blooms are growing beside the roadway and a deep ditch of water . I loved seeing them in a city full of coffee shops, fast food places, and gas stations , all of which are across the street. 20/08/2014
August 20, 2014 Roseate Skimmer (female) I did not have daily post today - until I found this beauty in my front yard. She is sitting on a red yucca, amazingly there were 2 shoots side by side and 2 skimmers, but I could not get a good 2 in one shot.

August 20, 2014 Rhode Island Red....this chicken was not taken where we bought the eggs, she was wondering around a Bed & Breakfast.
08-20-2014 "Bougainvillea" From one of the plants on my deck. Thanks so much for your comments on the little guy yesterday. Some made me laugh! Donna
Day 229: Hoboken NJ Street Art - August 19. This is a small segment of a wall mural created in 2005 as a joint effort by the Hoboken community to celebrate the 50th year anniversary of the city. Students submitted artwork depicting their views of the highlights of the city and two women artists/teachers merged them into an overall mural design that was painted and funded by volunteers. When time allows I will post more images of the delightful, creative artwork on the wall.
Gorgeous sunrise yesterday!!! The water was so still and the sky had such unique color. I shot all around the harbor for over 2 hours! Unlike today, where I overslept and missed the whole thing! Plymouth Harbor, Ma

Douglas C-47 Skytrain... The Douglas C-47 Skytrain or Dakota (RAF designation) is a military transport aircraft developed from the civilian Douglas DC-3 airliner. It was used extensively by the Allies during World War II and remained in front line service with various military operators through the 1950s. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_C-47_Skytrain Planes of Fame Air Show, May 3-4, 2014 Chino Airport Chino, CA http://planesoffame.org/ This winds up my series of the Chino Airshow. I will be adding a several more shots to my Planes of Fame album as time permits... http://hlhull.smugmug.com/Airplanes/Planes-of-Fame/42183187_9LkGWn#!i=3286277083&k=hGqV87n ... 20 August 2014
050211 Tree in Shohola Falls Long week last week with the shutter failing on my Nikon D50 and computer problems at work. Took a drive to Delaware Water Gap over the weekend to get away. Trying to adjust to my D60 but I liked my older camera.
Tuesday, August 19, 2014 "CRANK UP THE COLORS WITH COLEUSES" "Once something has outlived its usefulness in one area of life, its purpose for being in existence is no longer the same. The leaf that captures a stream of sunlight, and then transfers its energy to the tree, serves one purpose in the spring and summer, and another completely different one through the fall and winter." ~ Guy Finley SOOC, uncropped; 35mm lens Thanks for your comments on yesterday's purple and green coleus leaves. I was astounded at the beauty and color combination of these leaves. They were inside a hanging basket (as were yesterday's purple and green coleus leaves). I had to stand on my tip-toes to photograph them. On another note......I sure hope the DPC isn't abrogated prior to the end of the year, despite the decline in inaugural daily posts. Hopefully, the "faithful few" will continue to post photos. Personally, if at all possible, I like finishing what I start. Have a terrific Tuesday! Pirate Day at Ft. Mifflin - I anticipated catching this with fire and smoke coming from the gun but . . . it misfired.
The Journey begins... Please accept my apologies if I do not get to your shot right aways. Please let me explain. Taking care of my mom is virtually like taking care of a toddler. She can only take a few steps and she has to have diapers. I giver her meds to her, I get her up and in the wheelchair to take her to the dinning room to eat. She can feed herself so that's good. Basically when she needs something I have to get it. So if I don't comment right away I haven't forgotten you I'm just in the middle of something. Have a GRATEFUL day. and smile... *
