24/10/14 We went to see our friend today, who helps us with yard work, winter storms , and cat sitting . He is having some dietary problems ; so I went across the street to this market to get him some fresh food. (See his apartment building behind the pumpkins and fence)? I had my camera with me, of course, so I got lots of nice shots in the gorgeous, late afternoon sunlight! YAY! I made him an apple pie and it is yummy,,cause I made a small one for us. Thanks for the sentiments Judy! The soldier who was killed in Ottawa lives not too far away from us. I cried.

10/24/14 - Drawbridge at the entrance to the locks into Lake Washington, Seattle; I took this shot nearly a year and a half ago but had never processed some of the shots. I'm just finishing up the processing. I loved the rust and detail on this old drawbridge. This is just half of it. It is a railroad drawbridge. Thanks for your supportive comments on my shot of the castor bean. Yes, as Terry pointed out, all parts of this plant are very poisonous. When I was a child, nearly everyone seemed to grow a castor bean or two in their yards, but I think people quite planting them after their poisonous nature became more well known. Pets often fall victims to castor bean poisoning.
Oct.24. Last night we had an amazing sunset.
10/24/2014 ~ Bright and Early I love these old signs painted on brick walls. Have a great Friday!!
October 24, 2014 For some reason, this shot reminded me of the elusive Genie in the bottle because of it's shape, the light and the ethereal "feel" of the whole canyon. When you're there in the Antelope Canyon (upper), you can imagine all kinds of wonderful things about the shapes of those undulating Navajo sandstone walls. "Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better." ~ Albert Einstein Have a nature-filled day today my friends! Linda http://lgood.smugmug.com
10-24-2014 "Pumpkin Patch" It was obvious many people had been to the pumpkin patch because there were not many left. I can imagine what it looked like before the visitors started coming. Thank you for your comments on my photos. Donna
10-24-14 Cowboy on ground....boot in the air, near hip off horse.
Field of pumpkins, ready for Halloween (best larger). I was saving this one for Halloween but tomorrow I'm heading overseas again to give a few talks, and may be too busy to post and comment much, so I'm posting it early. 25/10/14 www.allenfotowild.com
Eclipse at Sunset Oct 24 A few photographers gathered at Jordan lake to photograph a rare partial solar eclipse at sunset yesterday.
