September 21, 2012 "Traffic jam or is it a "Buff" parade?" ~ Me Best viewed in larger/full size. On another of our marvelous drives around Jackson, Wyoming - we were headed to Yellowstone National Park and were stopped by this large herd of buffalo that were Jumping the fence in the pasture and headed across the highway. They did literally cause a traffic jam of many cars that had stopped to let them get across. This is SOOC. Notice the baby in the far right side of the herd near the fence. There were lots of young ones in the group. Fun to see. Our vacation to Salt Lake, and drive to Jackson, WY - through Teton National Park & Yellowstone was so fun and beautiful. The only thing that I regretted is that there were fires near, and so the air had a lot of smoke haze and I didn't get any great & clear photos of the Tetons. Have a Buff - sort of day today my friends, stop and smell the roses! Linda

Lion dancer performing for the crowd, Belitung, Sumatra Belitung Island is off the East cost of Sumatra in the Java Sea. In the past it belonged to Britain and then to the Dutch. Its principal products are pepper and tin. Belitung is not often visited, but it has some great white sand beaches with granite rocks, and good snorkeling. It was our last stop on our circumnavigation of Sumatra, and, as usual, the locals pulled out all the stops to provide hospitality and entertainment for us. In response to billiejean's question, these photos were taken on the first-ever circumnavigation of Sumatra on a Zegrahm Expeditions small ship adventure cruise that went into many areas rarely visited by travellers. Some photos from the welcoming ceremonies can be seen here: http://goo.gl/e90Q7y 14/04/14 www.allenfotowild.com

13APR2014 Into The Light My great friend passed away last night….such a short time we had together. Unlike my brothers, he cared about me like a brother….yet he knew so little of my past… My heart hurts from you leaving so soon my friend…..i know your in a better place….carry my prayers to my mom and dad as you walk the road into the light, guide my lenses from harm help me with my watering viewfinders, help me Rory get ambition and focus in my life, help me share my life with those who have little and are in need ……my zoom cannot go where you are, know i will see you again….always optimistic, never a frown…..as the shirt says he was from the big town. The autopsy revealed Rory had an enlarged heart…..I could have told them that. Busy lives tend to keep us from thinking of the time we have left here on this planet.….maybe the next life has you knowing a predetermined end date and some requirements of you while being there…..your faith set you free. Forty nine years old Rory told me his tales from his life, his struggles and strife, he painted quite a tough life….he apparently got done what was required of him here. Waiting for the train….we have all done it, mostly as an inconvenience or as a mode of transit they impact our lives. The rush of the wind as the locomotive passes either on the platform or in the siding still caused a smile from Rory each time we went out to shoot……the long breaks between trains turned to conversation and laughter….friendship. Rory and his wife Jenifer are both members of the Omaha Camera Club here in Omaha Nebraska, Rory shot with a Sony camera. Linda and I met him at the train museum in Council Bluffs Iowa…..wandering aimlessly around the dead steel out front, he kept getting in my images as i moved around. I finally went up to meet him and gave him my card and the club card as well told him to send me an e-mail after looking at my train images on my site….two guys New York born in Council Bluffs Iowa. What a way to go…..naked, dreaming... with the woman you loved laying next to you……Christ saved all your luck for the end my friend…..please sign me up for that one Rory or drop a note in the comment box for me…. Like so many days this past year…..i would end up down at the tracks with Rory. This was the evening the sun comes down on the tracks that are situated east and west here in Omaha, Rory is getting a great shot here at Seymore.

04-15-2014 "Bunny Pedicure" Yesterday Sutton and her friend, Lily, were volunteers at an annual event called "Horses for Handicap." Horse owners bring horses to our fairgrounds area and schools bring some of their special needs children and they can ride horses. There is also a petting area and this is where the girls work when they are there. We were there early and this bunny was getting a pedicure before the children arrived. I have many photos from the event and will be posting others. Your comments on my tulip yesterday as well as all my photos are greatly appreciated. Thanks for your continued support of my photography. Donna

Looked in my crystal weather ball... Saw cold and wind and that's not all. Saw two plus inches of snowy fall, And icicles to top it all. DP105-2014 Posted (late) April 15; created from photos taken the same day. All I can say is that it was a demented groundhog that predicted a mere six more weeks of winter on Ground Hog Day. More like ten weeks. Yikes! Ann Arbor, April 15, 2014 (Title: Winter Wins Again!)
