If you want to try one of these there are lots of free wallpapers out there of planets or sci-fi skyscapes, the possibilities are endless really. I find the hardest thing is to match the sky colours, and a misty scene helps with the blending I have a small gallery of these here; http://johnloguk.smugmug.com/Photography/UNDER-ALIEN-SKIES/47186401_qW6hrD#!i=3846553564&k=vjB8JWT

January 29, 2015 There was a bit of a haze in the air the day that I took this photo somewhere on the west coast of the USA during one of our many "driving" vacations. I liked the shot even thought it's not technically great because of the solitary sailboat. "I keep sailing on in this middle passage. I am sailing into the wind and the dark. But I am doing my best to keep my boat steady and my sails full." ~ Arthur Ashe Have a "sails full" sort of day today my friends. Linda http://lgood.smugmug.com

January 28, 2015 Curling Logs Pyramid Lake Jasper National Park, Alberta J in J 2015 - During the weeks celebrating Jasper in January, many events are held. Areas on Pyramid Lake were staged for sporting events, including an area that was cleared for curling. These curling stones were made from trees. * For the month of January I will, once again, be posting images from my annual trips to Jasper in January.

Coming at you! This is an experiment (for me) with textures in PS, which I'm trying to learn. I'd appreciate your thoughts and ideas about this. I'm going to take the umbrellas from yesterday and use Arctangent's suggestions for the shot. Then I'll post again.

January 28 - Guarded I really liked the rusty old gate on this picture with nice green foliage in the background.
Each of the so-called Royal Parks near Buckingham Palace (Hyde Park, Green Park, and St. James Park) has a unique history and character. One of the charms of St. James Park is the glimpses it affords of some of the surrounding attractions, mingled with views of the lake and the abundant resident waterfowl. This is a view to the east, across the lake, toward the famous, or infamous, London Eye Ferris wheel, with its viewing pods. In between, out of sight, is the Thames, which flows S-N along this stretch.. St. James Park is the oldest of the Royal Parks, dating to the start of the reign of King James I, in 1603. The London Eye was opened for visitors in 2000. As of this year, 2015, it is to be known officially as the Coca-Cola London Eye. Egads! DP029-2015 Posted Thursday, January 29; processed ditto Look closely and you'll see two swans on the lake, and beyond the screen of trees, some pedestrians, probably on Horse Guard Rd. They add a little size perspective. I wish I had captured the full reflection of the 'Eye', but it was too late to go back and redo it by the time I realized my mistake.
