Here is a close-up of the nearer of the two fishermen in yesterday's wide angle shot ( http://smu.gs/UyYWnY ). Several of you made direct or glancing reference to the fact that he seemed to be looking at a mobile phone. Although his boat is certainly rigged for fishing, I never once saw him so much as look at any of the three poles he had mounted on it. DP210-2014 Posted July 29; processed ditto For Regina (rtgeoghanart) who asked, and any others who might be interested, there is a different perspective of yesterday's scene here ( http://smu.gs/Uz3uL8 ). Also, for a closer view of the other fishing boat, barely visible in my July 28 DP post, see here ( http://smu.gs/X8h2yI ). It's a very different approach to fishing. July 29, 2014 A few weeks ago, Granddaughter Ashlee (in the middle) came out to spend the weekend with me and brought two of her friends. Lilly is on the left and Yasmine is on the right. On Saturday, they decided they wanted to do a photo shot. So they spent about 2 hours putting makeup on (my makeup), trying on clothes from my closet and creating their model "personas" . Here's the result. Lilly was the urban cowgirl (she really wanted to take my red cowboy boots home), Ashlee was the girl photo journalist (she doesn't wear glasses, but found some and the hat and strapped an old camera of mine around her neck, and Yasmin was the "girl singer" - gosh they had fun! They all took photos of each other, then called me out to take some "group" shots of them. Even Grandma had a good time. Have a fun-loving day today my friends. Linda http://lgood.smugmug.com

July 29, 2014 Little Orleans is a very small community with a population of 42. It’s located on the Potomac River and was originally served by both the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal & the Western Maryland Railroad, both of which are now abandoned. Bill’s Place, a restaurant & store are located next to the canal and hosts a motorcycle rally known as “Sturgis of the East”. http://www.eastcoaststurgis.com Boy how I would love to go to the Rally and just sit and take photos all day…..

Busy Butterfly I just liked the 'composition' and colors here. I'm not sure what kind it is. Seen on the Danube Island in Vienna
July 29 - Three Mule Deer I caught these gals looking in all directions. Thanks so much for your nice comments on my New Growth in the Forest image I posted yesterday. They are all so much appreciated.

28.07.14 - Candlelight We had an impromptu day filming "Tell Them of Us" yesterday, just one dialogue scene and lots of "fill in" letter writing scenes. Letters are at the heart of the story. Firstly the letters written by Robert Crowder from the front line in northern France throughout 1917 up to the time of his death at Paschendaele. Then there were the letters written by his mother Ann to the War Office as she tried to find meaning in the loss of her youngest son. All of the letters are now part of the family archive and without them we couldn't have made of film. We are having to madly re-scedule the last two months filming as two of our major actors have been offered work that they couldn't refuse and we wouldn't dare try to stop them doing. One is working in Disneyland Paris and the other is in a play in London, best of luck to both of them, hugely deserved too. I have been spoilt as stills photographer on Tell Them of Us because we have had many outdoor scenes. Usually Wag Screen productions are inside dark old buildings and I am struggling with very low lighting, so it was nice to get back to "classic" Wag Screen conditions for a few hours :)
July 29. Japanese Beetle Abstract. I apologize if this is gross to some, something lured me to take a picture.
