Emily and Dalton’s Landscape, Huntington TX

Emily and Dalton had a beautiful wedding at the Sawmill Lake Mansion in Huntington Texas. I was thrilled that the amazing Sarah Williams let me assist her for this wedding, because I also helped out withEmily’s bridal portraits a few weeks earlier and she was awesome! So Sarah and I had high expectations for their wedding and they did not disappoint! After the ceremony Emily and Dalton put up with us posing them for about a full hour, and were willing to go all the way to the other side of the lake for this shot. I hope they like it!

Well I haven’t posted a landscape photo in May yet, not one without a bride and groom in it at least, so I think I’ll finish off the month without posting one. In fact, I haven’t shot any landscapes since I was in Chicago back in mid-April. Part of the reason is that I’ve decided to start a wedding and portrait business, and I’m trying to practice as much as possible before we move to Montana. The other part of the reason is that I’m just not inspired by the landscape around me in East Texas. I may not shoot another landscape until we get to Montana.

Critiques are always welcome.

May 18, 2013 night we went downtown with friends to THE GATHERINGS. This is a weekly traveling food truck festival. For more information go here: http://www.thegatheringbaltimore.com/index.html
Last night the Gathering was held on the campus of Stratford University formerly the Baltimore International College – Culinary Institute. This photo is of a side entrance to the oldest public school in Baltimore City, Public School #2 built In 1910 which now houses part of the culinary college. I did not take my camera because it looked like rain so this was taken with my trusty iPhone4.

"LAKEPORT PLANTATION"

"People often say that 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder,' and I say that the most liberating thing about beauty is realizing that you are the beholder. This empowers us to find beauty in places where others have not dared to look, including inside ourselves." ~ Salma Hayek

An Arkansas State University Heritage Site

"The Lakeport Plantation house, built in 1859, is the only remaining Arkansas antebellum plantation home on the Mississippi River. The Greek Revival structure is one of Arkansas's premiere historic structures. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974, the home was gifted to Arkansas State University by the Sam Epstein Angel family in 2001. After five years of restoration work, the home opened to the public." ~ Reprinted text from here the official website

Good Morning! Anyone for a nice shower?
2013-05-18 Seen in Vienna, but it could be almost anywhere. This is the parent of the little cygnet from a few days ago. It is a "mute swan" - the common variety in Europe.
