August 20, 2014 As mentioned, Golden, TX is a small (pop 197) town in East Texas. The Domino Grill is in one of the three buildings in Golden. The restaurant has two dominoes tables that look like they get a lot of use. Most towns in the south have places where the men get together and play dominoes, some weekly some monthly. I remember my dad and grandfather playing dominoes. The clinking and sliding of the dominoes brings back wonderful memories. Thank you for your comments yesterday. I had appointments most of the day and didn't get to comment much. I will try to catch up today. Enjoy the day! Jeanne
Day 229: Hoboken NJ Street Art - August 19. This is a small segment of a wall mural created in 2005 as a joint effort by the Hoboken community to celebrate the 50th year anniversary of the city. Students submitted artwork depicting their views of the highlights of the city and two women artists/teachers merged them into an overall mural design that was painted and funded by volunteers. When time allows I will post more images of the delightful, creative artwork on the wall.
Pirate Day at Ft. Mifflin - I anticipated catching this with fire and smoke coming from the gun but . . . it misfired.
August 20, 2014 Rhode Island Red....this chicken was not taken where we bought the eggs, she was wondering around at a Bed & Breakfast.
Atlantic way - The bridge on the atlantic ocean in Norway.
Gorgeous sunrise yesterday!!! The water was so still and the sky had such unique color. I shot all around the harbor for over 2 hours! Unlike today, where I overslept and missed the whole thing! Plymouth Harbor, Ma
050211 Tree in Shohola Falls Long week last week with the shutter failing on my Nikon D50 and computer problems at work. Took a drive to Delaware Water Gap over the weekend to get away. Trying to adjust to my D60 but I liked my older camera.
January 7, 2012 This shot was taken just after sundown somewhere along the Mississippi coast of the Gulf of Mexico. We had stopped to walk on the beautiful white-sand beaches and take some photos. Just as we left, we stopped at a nearby marina to put gas in the car and I couldn't resist taking this photo. Frame added in Picnik. I hope you enjoy this tranquil setting captured in this photo - it's going to be one of my favorites from our recent vacation. Check it out in X3 for all the color, reflections and details. Thanks for your comments!!! Have a fabulous weekend!!! Linda
June 11, 2011 This is the same abandoned station where the marching line of gas pumps were found. You can see that shot posted on June 5th here if you missed it. I know many of you have seen it because of the wonderful comments which are very appreciated. http://lgood.smugmug.com/Other/Daily-Photos-2010/12484643_ezMcC#1367630283_kkxm8S9 This is another set of gas pumps that are older in style, and were in front of the abandoned station. As I mentioned before, there were 100s of pumps around this place. It was so cool. And here's an old sign that was in front of this old place- http://lgood.smugmug.com/Other/Signs/7752337_483tx//1061733754_#1376000970_H7MsspG This was such a cool place and it brought back lots of memories for me from days gone by. I hope you all enjoy it. Linda
Delicate Swan - Sep 23 2010 She (he?) was all alone... Did some (LOL) PP on this shot to make a kinda delicate picture.
Standing in deep summer on one bank of the river, and staring into the face of on-rushing autumn on the opposite bank. These maples, already well on their way to their ultimate deep red, were but a few instances that I saw last Saturday of what I consider to be a premature change into full fall regalia. In other places I saw whole groves of maples that were even deeper red than this. They just weren't in places where I could easily, safely stop the car and take pictures. That red sassafras leaf I found a week ago was just a warning shot across the bow! DP231-2014 Posted August 19; processed August 18. I've started a new gallery for pictures of this transitional period of the change from summer into fall. 08-20-2014 A slightly different pose to end the series (for now). We made it all with only small strobes... Can't wait to start working with the studio ones ! Well, just have to wait for a model...
Day 37 - Love Thank you for all the great comments. I was quite nervous taking this set of flower photos for a wedding catalog because the flowers were to be used for a wedding the next morning. The client was rushing me in worries that the flowers being out of the refrigerator too long and its losing freshness. It was my first job shooting flowers commercially and that was quite an experience, to say the least.
September 23, 2007 Fog in the forest.
