June 1, 2015 Recently I walked out of the house and to our home workshop to visit with Bill. As I walked to where he was working on the project of the day, the light on the visor of his welding helmet caught my eye. Then I took in the whole scene, and studied the red helmet, the white light and the blue color of the welder, walls and oxygen cylinder, and I thought, now this is a cool photo. Needless to say, I made a U-turn and went back in the house to get the camera. I like this photo for many reasons. The primary reason is that the components are common objects found in the workshop. Yet the casual and random positioning of the group made a cool and colorful red, white & blue scene. It's almost an industrial still life. I'm headed out again early this morning for another week of business travel. Those 3:30 a.m. wake up calls to make the 7:40 a.m flight is difficult to say the least. This will be a long week jammed with meetings but I'll do my best to comment while I'm gone. "There's no crying in welding." ~ unknown Thank you for your comments and critiques. Have a great week! Linda http://www.lgood.smugmug.com

Yesterday my wife and I was on a shoot in Sonderho. There we met Camilla standing by her truck, selling fresh fish just brought in from the North Sea. Fortunately for her (and me) she was dressed for the cold winds coming in from the sea. When my wife had bought her fish I asked if I could have some picture of her and the truck. This is one of them. She only asked if she could get a copy, and of course I agreed to that. Only pp was cropping and correcting white balance due to low January-sun..

Monday, June 1, 2015 "JAPANESE DWARF FLOWERING QUINCE" "I love spring anywhere, but if I could choose I would always greet it in a garden." ~ Ruth Stout June, already? Where did May go? Peachy and pretty, I love the coral orange color of these harbingers of spring! Their botanic name is "Chaenomeles Japonica" and they are ornamental plants native to China and Japan. Notice how the blooms are partially hidden among the foliage. I'm told that the small, pleasantly scented greenish-yellow fruit (quinces) ripen in fall, and, although quite bitter and unappetizing when fresh, may be used in jellies and preserves. Have a marvelous Monday! (photo taken 3/29/2015) My Homepage: www.GodsChild.SmugMug.com

6/1/15 - I thought you might enjoy seeing the Thunderbirds against the top of Pike's Peak. This year there was more snow on the mountain than at any other graduation I've photographed. Thanks for your comments on my shot of the Thunderbirds over the stadium. Much appreciated!
