Happy Valentine's Day!!!! POTD February 14, 2011 - Best viewed in X2 This classic Ford truck is really red, but I was experimenting with PP - just playing around really. But I kind of liked this effect. I particularly liked the reflections of the Mustang in the side, the grass in the wheels and the understated color of this beauty. Best viewed in x large to see the fine detail. Here's the 'original' shot straight out of the camera: http://lgood.smugmug.com/gallery/12442807_L6QVo/#1187288707_Bu2oA Thanks for all you kind comments this week. Have a good one!!!! Best regards., Linda

March 29, 2011 A Hunk of American Steel and loads of chrome on this beauty. This is a 1958 Buick Super and a fantastic car, totally gorgeous. It's an example of the iconic American cars of the 1950's. It's one of my favorites that I see often - it belongs to our friend Ted who is in our same car club. This shot is from Saturday's car show - hope you enjoy. And.......... here's an extreme PP of this shot here: http://lgood.smugmug.com/Cars/Classic-Cars/12442807_L6QVo#1230532693_N8wot Hope you enjoy!!!!! Let me know which version you like best. thanks a million for all your great comments!!!!!!!!!!! Linda Late edit June, 2012 - Mr. Ted Phelps who owned this car passed away this week. He was a wonderful man, he loved his Buick and he and this lovely car won lots of awards all over the U.S.A. RIP Ted.
May 5 1945 Denmark was liberated by the British from Nazi occupation, later American forces joined in. The picture is from my parental home where my parents gave accommodation to these two soldiers for about a fortnight as few accommodations were available. The soldier on the right is British and the one to the left I think was American. I am the boy in between. My memory of these days are vague, but I remember that one of them had a jeep parked in front of the house and I had great pleasure of learning to drive by repeatedly use of the self-starter and thus moving the jeep half a block away. As my father caught me in the act I was at once send to bed.
