Yellow-Headed Blackbird - near Idaho Falls, Id.
Giant wave formation with snow melt pool, White Pocket, Vermillion Cliffs NM, Arizona It involved a little exploring and climbing to find this great viewpoint, but it was worth the effort. Other photos of the fantastic rock formations and 'bonsai' trees in this area can be seen here: http://goo.gl/xoxbvG 26/07/14 www.allenfotowild.com
I love the contrast between the dark stems and buds and the pale petals of this dahlia. The buds always remind me of dark little tomatoes on the vine. The yellow tint to the ends of the petals near the center make this bloom look like the color of the pollen ran out into the petals. What's not to like? DP207-2014 Posted July 26; processed ditto The dahlia varieties in this bed weren't identified, unfortunately. Take July 18, 2014, in the Gateway Garden at Matthaei Botanical Gardens. July 26, 2014 A couple of month ago I was sitting in the house processing photos and I became aware of the winds howling outside. I grabbed my camera and walked out the back door to see what was going on. These amazing clouds were just over the house. Shortly afterwards we got some much needed rain. Have a storm-free day today my friends. Linda http://lgood.smugmug.com

JULY 26 2014 Sunset on Front Street, In Lahaina, Maui
I had the chance to go see Derek Jeter one final time live as I traveled down to Baltimore's Camden Yard to see the Yankees take on the Orioles. Derek had a great day he had two hits and scored a run in a win for the Yankees....
June 26, 2014 These Trumpet Flowers remind me of my grandmother. She had several vines of the orange trumpet flowers in her front yard. I am not posting a quilt today because my momma told me she wanted to see something else, hahaha. I’ll post another on next week. I am looking forward to Sunday’s LOGO challenge. Campsis radicans (trumpet vine or trumpet creeper, also known in North America as cow itch vine or hummingbird vine), is a species offlowering plant of the family Bignoniaceae, native to the southeastern United States. Growing to 33 ft, it is a vigorous, deciduous woody vine, notable for its showy trumpet-shaped flowers. It inhabits woodlands and riverbanks, and is also a popular garden subject.
