03.03.15 Another recipe from my grandmother's notebook. I also enjoyed this one. We used coconut oil and I left the sugar out and used just a dash of salt. I used a largish zucchini and a large tomato. Skillet Vegetable Medley 2 Tbs. oil 1 Tb. cider vinegar 1Tb. worcest sauce 1 ½ t sugar 1 ¼ t salt ½ t oregano ¼ t dry mustard ½ lbs. green beans. Cut ½ lb mushrooms, halved 2 med. Zucchini, sliced 2 med. tomatoes, cut in wedges Combine oil, vinegar, Worcestershire, sugar, salt, oregano and mustard. Bring to a boil and add beans. Return to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer 5 min. Add mushrooms and zucchini. Cover and simmer 3 min. Add tomatoes and simmer 1 minute. Serve hot.

June 23... Viking boat found in a moor and put together bit by bit. It was with these boats the Vikings concurred large part of England, Ireland and Normandy. Part of them settled there as farmers. Many names in England bear witness of the Viking. For example town names ending with -by is of Danish origin, i.e. Grimsby. "By" is the Danish name for town.
Tuesday, March 3, 2015 "FROZEN HONEYSUCKLES" “I miss the snow. I miss looking at it, walking in it, tasting it. I used to love those days when it was so cold everyone else would be tucked away inside trying to stay warm. I would be the only one out walking, so I could look across the fields and see miles of snow without a single footprint in it. It would be completely silent -- no cars, no birds singing, no doors slamming. Just silence and snow. God, I miss snow. The stars, the moon, the wind, and blankets of pure, pristine snow.” ~ Damien Echols This is the final photo I'm sharing in the DPC from my "Snow What Fun Series" 2015 - this time, red honeysuckles on a vine in our backyard. As previously stated, whenever we get snow, it's a big deal - considering the fact that during most winter months, we don't get snow. Nevertheless, it has totally dissipated now and there are not even tiny remnants of it left from the four to five inches that we got last Wednesday. The colors of fall Edited in Topaz Simplify. I didn't use a preset, just edges and adjust.
Day 062: Tulips in a Vase - Mar 3. Snowing, raining - just plain messy here. Picked up a few tulips this morning when I was in supermarket. Really want to learn how to use textures. Can anyone recommend a good place to get a few to start out - either free or inexpensive?
Day 061: Graffiti Memories - Mar 2. Came across this old graffiti in the cement columns of an underground garage. Not such a great photo opportunity but look close and at the top of the graffiti someone had printed Woodstock #1. The Woodstock Music & Art Fair (aka the Woodstock Festival or Woodstock) was a music festival billed as “3 Days of Peace & Music." It was held in New York’s Catskill Mountains at Max Yasgur's 600-acre dairy farm from August 15 to 18, 1969. An audience estimated at more than 400,000 braved crowds, rain and mud in the outdoor venue to see and hear 32 acts or performers. Woodstock is widely regarded as a key turning point in popular music history and to have spurred the rise of the counterculture generation. Rolling Stone listed it as one of the 50 Moments That Changed the History of Rock and Roll. No I wasn't there. I was a young mother with three young children then but I certainly remember the media attention that it received and the spectacular music that we all got to know and love.
"Pogrom" - My favorite, with a black background. Also here:http://kazimiera.smugmug.com/Photography/Arabian-Horse-Show-2011/16060118_GN6phH#!i=3439703587&k=jpS4jnb and a few more in this folder.
02.03.15 - The Golden Hour It was actually more like the golden five minutes because a low bank of cloud in the west, behind me, snuffed it all out, but it was beautiful while it lasted nonetheless. This is a 2 shot photomerge panorama with north to the left and east to the right. You can just see the Cathedral in the far distance near the left hand edge
