6.27.2011. We found these wonderful windmills overlooking the nice little town of Consuegra, Spain. There are 11 of them sprinkled here along with a small castle that was closed :( While they are not the ones that Don Quixote did battle with, they are the same types. The funniest thing was that one of the windmills is a little tourist shop and we stopped there first to get a cold drink. The shopkeeper told us we could climb the stairs and look out, so up we marched, and as we climbed he loudly sang The lady's very pretty The lady's very nice The lady's very pretty I'd like to kiss her twice! Oh those Spaniards!!! Thanks everyone for all your comments, it's so fun to be home and be following all the great pictures in the dailies.

Gorgeous sunrise yesterday!!! The water was so still and the sky had such unique color. I shot all around the harbor for over 2 hours! Unlike today, where I overslept and missed the whole thing! Plymouth Harbor, Ma
June 11, 2011 This is the same abandoned station where the marching line of gas pumps were found. You can see that shot posted on June 5th here if you missed it. I know many of you have seen it because of the wonderful comments which are very appreciated. http://lgood.smugmug.com/Other/Daily-Photos-2010/12484643_ezMcC#1367630283_kkxm8S9 This is another set of gas pumps that are older in style, and were in front of the abandoned station. As I mentioned before, there were 100s of pumps around this place. It was so cool. And here's an old sign that was in front of this old place- http://lgood.smugmug.com/Other/Signs/7752337_483tx//1061733754_#1376000970_H7MsspG This was such a cool place and it brought back lots of memories for me from days gone by. I hope you all enjoy it. Linda
Two Minute Blue Hour, Lake Sam Rayburn TX A view from the new beach we've found at Lake Sam Rayburn. I can't stress enough how cool this beach is. My photos don't really give any sense of what it looks like, just the view. I'll have to take a video the next time we're there. Maybe I'm just really excited because the previous 20 or so lake views we've scouted on two different lakes have mostly been a bust. We're really looking forward to spending the day there sometime in the next few weeks and exploring it further. This is a single two minute exposure taken some 20 minutes after the sun went down. This is one of the last shots of the night and it was getting dark fast. I'm always surprised how much light I can continue to capture long after the sun goes down. I used a 3-stop hard-step graduated neutral density filter to block three stops of light above the horizon. I've always admired the abstract feeling of really long exposures on the water, and it has been a goal of mine to make some really long exposures of my own. I've still got a lot to learn. I'm also trying to break my habit of using 17mm and f/22, but habits are hard to break. QUESTION: I'm interested to hear your thoughts about the color temperature of this photo. What color temperature do you think I used for this photo? What's your best guess? What is the appropriate color temperature for this situation 20 minutes after sundown? Critiques always welcome! Daily photo: August 29, 2012, taken August 26, 2012
'Blowing Bubbles'...03/30/2011... Getting a tiny bit closer to where I would like to be...had about 30-40 minutes yesterday to roam about the yard...found this and a few other things...
July 29, 2009 - Texas Sage I really want a good macro lens. All this cropping to get the shot I want is not working well. Hmmmm do I starve the kids, deprive them of an education and dance classes, sell off the cars or stand on a street corner holding a sign that says "will work for glass"? LOL - J/K! ;)
February 10... Beach #4. Almost every day I take Blif for a walk along the beach. Especially in autumn and winter the sky puts up magnificent shows. The other day this sky came up covering most colors even a bit of green at the left. The show went on for app. 10 minutes, and then it was all over.

07.10.14 Daisies. ETA: It wasn't raining. The sprinkler was on. Yesterday I did not feel well at all. I am hoping today will be a better day.
