March 1, 2015 I was desperate for a shot for the final Sunday of Judy's Still Life Challenge, and knowing that I wouldn't be able to work on staging one during the past week, last Sunday I just snapped this shot of my desk. It's a still life of sorts. Obviously you can see my computer screen with Smug Mug on, - and Judy's strawberry still life, then there's my iPad sitting on top of my photo printer - I'm a Nikon girl, but my Canon photo printer is the best. And last, but not least you can see my flatbed scanner on top of the desk. The top of the desk holds many fun things that are special to me. What's not as easy to see is the magazine "Shutterbug" that's laying in front of the printer, and then there's also a Photoshop CS5 for Dummies book on one of the shelves (I'm still a dummy) and a small portion of my collection of roosters and sunflowers. Some day I'm going to get around to reading the Photoshop for Dummies book, as I am a neophyte when it comes to Photoshop, and would like to get more knowledge. Ah, well.....it's on the list. Corny? Yep, but it's where I process photos and spend a lot of time. Sorry it's such a lame still life.. Have a fun day today my friends! Linda http://lgood.smugmug.com
Game Ball... This ball was used in the the final game of our '78 season. At the time, my dear wife was in the hospital. She spent 3 months flat on her back with what at the time had 4-5 doctors puzzled as to a diagnosis. Our families and many friends were praying for her, and thank God, she miraculously recovered. My teammates signed this game-winning ball and gave it to me. We won the game, 11-3 and the league championship. My teammate, R.D. Cook, was my catcher, or as he called himself, 'receiver.' As you you might have guessed by now, I pitched. Sadly, R.D. passed away several years later of cancer. He was a very special friend. Also, shortly after the season ended, our coach moved to Texas, and due to additional unforeseen circumstances, our team never regrouped. It was a special group of guys and special memories... Note: This was going to be my still life for yesterday but I didn't get it together in time. I'll share one more still life tomorrow, unrelated to yesterday and today. Thanks for your views and comments, much appreciated! Critiques welcome... March 2, 2015
12-21: This is another from the foggy morning at the Collindale golf course. The fog was freezing on some of the trees branches and needles
12-15: Sunday we woke up to more snow and bitter cold. When I took this picture in the afternoon it was only about 4 degrees F! The sun was causing some fog to form over Horsetooth
Rails
Old lady at sunrise
February 21, 2011 - "Restoration Questionable" This vehicle is on display in front of some Key West stores. I did some research and believe that nameplate on the hood is part of the original vehicle. Your response to my Key West sunset image was greatly appreciated.
Bridge Reflections I captured this while my wife & I were out for a walk. I loved the reflections on the water and the serenity of feeling this shot gave me. I really liked the feel of this shot. We were on one of the overlooks on the lake taking this shot. I am on the road for the next 2 day so I will be late getting comments till I return. I hope to catch some when I get to the office today, but tomorrow we leave at 4AM so I expect it will be late Friday when I catchup with folks. Have a great day, hope you are not getting soaked like we are. Not looking forward to my 3 hr road trip
Day 37 - Love Thank you for all the great comments. I was quite nervous taking this set of flower photos for a wedding catalog because the flowers were to be used for a wedding the next morning. The client was rushing me in worries that the flowers being out of the refrigerator too long and its losing freshness. It was my first job shooting flowers commercially and that was quite an experience, to say the least.
Yates Mill Pond - December 26, 2010
Golden Fields & Blue Mountains October 2008 Taken in Montana, Madison River Valley, just after a storm.
12-26: Another from the golf course on Wednesday morning. There was a heavy frost on the trees which, in this shot, was helping to pick up a glow from the sun.
September 23, 2007 Fog in the forest.
August 12, 2009 - "Rafting The Arkansas" On our summer treks to Colorado, we have a favotie spot to stop and take photos of the whitewater rafters. This was shot about two weeks ago along the Arkansas River in Colorado.
Altered Perspective This is a can you guess what John did shot. I have changed something in this picture and I wonder if you can tell For the locals this was taken on the Yorktown tour roads Give up? here is a hint, original shot Original What the shot is a reflection in a large puddle of water that I was standing in. (almost got wet). I captured a group of shots as I liked the feel of the sky in the water. I then flipped the canvas 180 for this altered perspective.
