Day 143: Iris Garden - May 23. Love visiting this garden each year when the irises are in bloom. Presby Memorial Iris Garden, located in Montclair, NJ, is about a 40 drive for me and when I get there I could spend hours with such a huge variety of flowers to enjoy and photograph. Filled up my memory card with iris portraits and can't wait to get back next week since there are still many buds that have not opened as yet.
January 19. Mist Thank you for the many positive comments of my 1945-picture taken by my fathers prewar Contax
05-24-2015 "How Did This Happen?" There is a magnolia tree over these palms. The only thing I can figure is when the dead leaf dropped it hit just right on the tip of the palm thus getting stuck. An act of nature it must be. Thank you for your comments on my photos. Donna
February 17, 2013 As seen in one of the taxidermist's booths at the Safari Club International show in Reno, Nevada. Have a great day full of giant fun today my friends! Linda
May 23, 2015 I'm renting a few long lenses to see if I like them. If I do find one I like, then I may buy it, or rent the favorite one long term to take on our Alaska cruise this summer. The first one that I'm trying out is a Tamron 150-600. I was out in our backyard checking it out last Sunday, and as luck would have it, a pair of Roadrunners came out of their forested hiding places. The female in the foreground was in our backyard, and the male was on the other side of the fence on our neighbor's driveway. It's not the greatest photo, but I was just so thrilled to get them both in the same shot, that I decided to share. I'm shooting at them from probably about 300 feet away. I have cropped the shot just a bit. "Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly." ~ Langston Hughes Have a wonderful and fine day today my friends! Cooling off Capybara pair cooling off in the Rio Cuiaba, Pantanal, Brazil. I've always found there to be something quite appealing about capybaras, the world's largest rodents, and liked this male (on left) and female pair sitting placidly in the water by the edge of the river. Other photos of Pantanal wildlife can be seen here: http://goo.gl/JcZRBH 22/05/15 www.allenfotowild.com
January 14. This is a 100 year old summerhouse in the dunes just 100 m. from the beach. I shot it just before sunset in order to get the glow in the windows and the dark BG. The foreground was darkened in order to draw all attention to this well-preserved house .
February 4... In Beijing my wife and I made a visit to high-school #14 which is a School for Chinese who can afford to give their children the best education money can buy. In the music class I saw this flute-player, so devoted to her music that she did not notice us.
