Oct 22 - Pumpkins at the Farm Market This is an HDR image from 5 images with 1 fstop difference. I will post a few more in the next couple of days. I loved the colors, depth, and light that resulted. Thanks again for your comments on the chevy impala images I posted. I haven't been able to return the comments on others in the daily community. I will still be posting here as it motivates me and helps me to improve my techniques but will probably not have time to comment.
October 22, 2014 St. John’s Chapel ~ Tilghman Island , Maryland The Building of the Church On March 13, 1891, John Harrington sold an acre of his farm to the Trustees of Lower Tilghman Episcopal Church South for the sum of $100. He was one of ten original Trustees, who were: William H. Bradshaw, George A. Cummings, Lewis Cummings, George F. Duncan, Frederick Faulkner, Josiah Faulkner, John V. Harrington, John W. Mitchell, Edward R. Tyler, and Walter Weber. The parcel was adjacent to Fairbank School on the northeast corner of his field at the foot of Bar Neck Road. Many years earlier, the Harringtons had provided land there for residents to construct the island’s first schoolhouse. (It was called Tilghman School until 1887; when a second school was built up the island, it became Fairbank School.) Lumber for the new church was obtained in North Carolina and transported to Tilghman’s Island on a skipjack. While anchored in Black Walnut Cove, the boat overturned in a storm and all the lumber went adrift. (Some suspected foul play.) In any event, the congregation salvaged most of the wood and construction got underway. The church building was completed later in 1891, as shown on its cornerstone. The cost was $2000. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Friends-of-St-Johns-Chapel/555634594489977?sk=info

Red Hibiscus... I took this shot from my brothers' backyard, they're in his neighbors yard and were blooming above the fence. I loved the light! Thanks for your views and comments, much appreciated! Critiques welcome... 21 October 2014
10-22-2014 "Well Hello There" The pumpkin patch had different animals you could see when you went on the hay ride. I have always pictured camels to be larger than this one, but they said it was normal. They would feed the animals when we stopped so they would come close to the fence for the children to see. Your comments are always welcome and greatly appreciated. Donna
Bird of Paradise-Yellow       We will have these and the Reds through out the summer...

October 22, 2014 It took 65,000+ pumpkins, squash and gourds to create Autumn at the Arboretum this year. Words cannot describe how amazing it is. The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens are award winning and spectacular. They have numerous activities year round for all age groups. It is a must see if you are in Dallas and I will happily be your tour guide. ;-) To answer your (Terry?) question about the tiny Jack Be Little Pumpkins hanging on the fence. They are edible and are usually baked. My bird loving friends....is this a Grackle? Happy Wednesday Jeanne
Golden Fields & Blue Mountains October 2008 Taken in Montana, Madison River Valley, just after a storm.
"The River Flows" On my way home from an appt. today I stopped at one of my favorite fishing spots on the Rockaway River in my town to grab this capture. Too bad I didn't have a set of waders in my car to get the little water fall that is located just below this scene but I have to be UNDER the bridge I was on in order to get it in the frame LOL. So you'll have to settle for this one. I love the little water flow control house that is dilapidated here, it adds a nice rigid feel to the scene. I've watched the roof continue to collapse over the years and soon it will just fall in completely. This is one of the best trout spots around here and they stock the river just upstream weekly during trout season from the farm with tags on them so you know if you caught a wild or farm bread fish. The mountain you see in the background is part of the Picatinny Arsenal where they develop & test new weapons for the military. Anyway, it was an overcast day here as you can see and it really brought some nice contrast into the picture that I liked. I had to make slight levels adjustments to bring the clouds out a bit more and then some selective dodging & burning to the shadow areas but not much more to this one. Oh and a slight filter applied to bring the colors up a bit since it was so dark here. 10 min. of work and it was finished. So I hope you enjoy this next addition to my fall colors month - I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and get out there to enjoy the crisp clean fall air ;) ALTERNATE VERSION: You can see a second version in SEPIA of this image in my EXTRAS Gallery BY CLICKING HERE Best Regards, ~Bill~
The Journey begins... Please accept my apologies if I do not get to your shot right aways. Please let me explain. Taking care of my mom is virtually like taking care of a toddler. She can only take a few steps and she has to have diapers. I giver her meds to her, I get her up and in the wheelchair to take her to the dinning room to eat. She can feed herself so that's good. Basically when she needs something I have to get it. So if I don't comment right away I haven't forgotten you I'm just in the middle of something. Have a GRATEFUL day. and smile... *
Yates Mill Pond - December 26, 2010
11/05/09 - Historic Yates Mill Pond at Sunset I posted a picture of the actual water wheel in my gallery earlier this year. In this picture, you can't see the wheel, but you get this lovely reflection instead. After Joey's flu shot, I decided to make the best of a wonderful afternoon and go for a quick hike around the mill pond. Unfortunately, we were really there a good 30-60 minutes too late to be taking good pictures. I had to bump up the saturation on this one to improve the color. This is the same shot taken on 10/26 last year when the sun was better and the tree closest to the mill still had yellow leaves on it. http://fotomom.smugmug.com/Yates-Mill-Pond/Yates-Mill-Photo-Contest-2009/7088136_34LZC#454338880_TdGL2 In both cases, the sky looks better in the reflection than in the final shot. I'm not sure how to get around that...especially in last night's picture when the sky really didn't have much blue in it. We still have not had a frost or freeze at my house, but it look like it's coming Friday night into Saturday. I am storing ceramic bird baths and pots and taking in fragile plants that I can save. I sure wish today was Friday... HAGD, Maryann
February 21, 2011 - "Restoration Questionable" This vehicle is on display in front of some Key West stores. I did some research and believe that nameplate on the hood is part of the original vehicle. Your response to my Key West sunset image was greatly appreciated.

Behind the Glen Canyon Dam. These monster structures just amaze me. I have no understanding of the engineering and the mechanics of building one, but I'm really glad that other people do.
