This image was shot from in front of the historic Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal. Thursday, February 26, 2015 "ALL SNOW AND NO PLAY" "The first fall of snow is not only an event, it is a magical event. You go to bed in one kind of a world and wake up in another quite different, and if this is not enchantment, then where is it to be found?" ~ J. B. Priestley A drive-by - photographed from the passenger side of the vehicle........ NOTE: SmugMug is still having "issues" with photos appearing in the Daily Photos Community. This one, along with several other photos from SmugMuggers, are not appearing in the community today. The photos that are appearing are mostly the ones that were posted yesterday, including mine. Yesterday, from 12:15 PM to approximately 5:00 PM, our city got 4-5 inches of snow.......nonstop. Snow is a big deal for us, especially considering that during the winter months, we don't always get snow. We rode around yesterday evening so that we could see the snow scenes and I could take advantage of the photo ops. Since I am not accustomed to photographing snow, I had to play around with different settings; however, I was really inspired by the beautiful wintery/snow photos that have been previously posted by fellow SmugMuggers Janet McQueen, Nelli, and Trusalda (aka TruImages). Hang in there; tomorrow is Friday! (photo taken 2/25/2015)

Sunday, February 20, 2011 "O is for ORNAMENT" "A true friend is someone who knows your faults and genuinely loves and accepts you anyway." ~ Unknown Author This is a beautiful, crystal Christmas tree ornament that was a gift from my best friend in 2009. I turned off the lights in the room to darken the background. Also, I intentionally did not position the camera to center the photo, because I had an "eye" for something different. Additionally, before I pushed the button to take the picture, I twisted the hanger to make the ornament spin - thus, the variations in color. Finally, as the French saying goes, "Voila!" Sunday, May 15, 2011 "ANTIQUE CHEVY" (pp version) "Keep calm and drive a Chevy!" ~ Unknown Author Linda (aka Lgood) is one of the absolute best at capturing automobile shots and their reflections, and I immediately thought of her when I spotted this GM classic. Unfortunately, there wasn't an information card, so I am unsure as to the year of this "oldie but goodie." My hubby's guess is it's a "1930 something Chevy." The pink sign made spectators chuckle. It warned, "UNLESS YOU ARE NUDE.....PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH MY CHEVY! BUCKLES, BELTS, AND BUTTONS SCRATCH." As you can see, I did some pp with this one, but it is uncropped. God is and has been exceptionally kind to all of us; have a blessed and safe Sunday, everyone. Saturday, July 2, 2011 "1955 FORD FAIRLANE TOWN SEDAN" “Vision without execution is just hallucination.” ~ Henry Ford Here's my very 1st HDR pp image........best viewed in XLarge!! A special thanks to Lgood's husband Bill (owner of a Ford Fairlane) who stated that this is "a 1955 (maybe a '66) but nearly certain it is a '55." This multi-colored Ford Fairlane Town Sedan was my favorite in the show. I love the bright colors that changed depending upon the angle from which it was viewed. If you look real close, you will see reflections galore in this one, most notably a red Chevy pickup that was parked beside it. According to Wikipedia, "The Ford Fairlane was an automobile model sold between 1955 and 1970 by the Ford Motor Company in North America. The name was taken from Henry Ford's estate, Fair Lane, near Dearborn, Michigan. Over time, the name referred to a number of different cars in different classes; the Fairlane was initially a full-size car but became a mid-size car from the 1962 model year. The mid-sized model spawned the Australian-built Fairlane in 1967, although it was considered a large car there." Your comments regarding my pp work on yesterday's T-Bird were both inspiring and appreciated. By the way, my hubby and our two sons are the "vintage vehicle/car buffs." ***#4 photo of the day and all-time*** (photo taken 6/11/2011) My Homepage: http://www.Godschild.smugmug.com

Monday, December 17, 2010 "IKEBANA DOUBLE ENDER AND ROWBOAT with NIIJIMA FLOATS" by Dale Chihuly "Your attitude is like a box of crayons that color your world. Constantly color your picture gray, and your picture will always be bleak. Try adding some bright colors to the picture by including humor, and your picture begins to lighten up." ~ Allen Klein I've selected this one as my computer's screesaver. I am a huge admirer of Dale Chihuly's glass art. These were imported from Finland. The entire gallery of this collection can be viewed in my ArtScape folder. The complete "Chihuly: The Collection" gallery is here: http://godschild.smugmug.com/ArtScape-1/Chihuly-The-Collection-2010 I appreciate all of your comments on yesterday's photo. Tuesday, December 27, 2011 "BROKEN, BUT BEAUTIFUL" "Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another, 'What! You too? I thought I was the only one." ~ C.S. Lewis No flash and SOOC, other than the border.......final Christmas theme post of the year:) It was Christmas in November when I received this! My best friend (of 23 years) and I exchanged Christmas gifts when she (and her family) were here during the Thanksgiving holidays. I think she's started a tradition of giving me a Christmas tree ornament each year. Unfortunately, when I pulled this one out of the bag, it was broken (most likely during shipping), although you probably cannot tell in this photo. It's an angel inside the ornament that's suppose to sit atop the base and light up once the light switch is turned on. Actually, it's amazing how much I like the fact that the angel appears to be sitting at the base of the ornament holding a picture. Nevertheless, it's beautiful and I love and appreciate it. The frame was applied from PicNik. View the 2010 ornament here: http://godschild.smugmug.com/Project365/Daily-Dose-of-One-A-Day-2011/15049328_sF4n2j#1192553561_ebJxx-A-LB The glass bowl in the background is the one in the Thursday, December 22, 2011 post, which can be viewed or reviewed here: http://godschild.smugmug.com/Project365/Daily-Dose-of-One-A-Day-2011/15049328_sF4n2j#1595885649_SVSM4TJ-A-LB I wholeheartedly appreciate your comments on my photos and I enjoy perusing your outstanding photos.
