"Waiting for mom" Tree Swallows - taken in Yellowstone. I really appreciate the comments!
Girl at a window This pretty young girl was the daughter of the owners of a small hotel that I stayed at in Olgii, Western Mongolia during the Eagle Festival. Several photos of young Ashol Pan, Mongolia's only female eagle hunter at the Eagle Festival, competing in the Shyrga Tartu competition to attract the eagle to a lure towed behind a horse, can be seen here: http://goo.gl/bvj4Za 02/08/15 www.allenfotowid.com
Royal Eagle I was attending meetings in Geneva during the last days, and my wife and I revisited some of the sites we liked when we lived there. One of the sites is a popular show of birds of prey (raised in captivity), along Lac Leman (Lake Geneva), Les Aigles du Léman, in Sciez, France. So you will be seeing bird pictures for the next few days. P.S. this is of course a Golden Eagle, which in French is called Aigle Royal.
Taken at the Durango, Co cemetery where we buried my father 1/7/2014. He loved this place because all the deer hang out there. They are everywhere for some reason. They are sleeping all over the graves in this cemetery. He/Roy/my father, actually drove me up there one day, thus the pictures I got, and told me this is where he wanted to be buried. Well he was, I have to keep promises, no matter the trouble. You feel me? I always got the finger wagging in my face saying "Don't you ever put us in an old folks home." I promised and am still upholding the FAMILY WISH. You only have family, and shoving them in the obscure care facility is disrespectful in my opinion. They wiped my bottom and guided me through life, so the least anyone could do is the same for end of life RESPECT. Right? Can your life be so busy as to not honor your family? I've said my peace and everyone may not agree, but think about it. THEY ARE YOUR LEGACY WHETHER YOU GOT ALONG OR NOT. I had my rough patches but in the end I love my parents. OTSB (Off The Soap Box)

July 11, 2015 This is another of the wonderful bridges in Oregon, the architecture of the ones I saw in the state just blows me away, because they are so unique and lovely.. This photo was taken a few years ago on one of our driving vacations along the west coast. Thank you for your comments & critiques. Well friends, Bill and I leave early in the morning to fly to Vancouver, Canada to start our two-week vacation to Alaska. I'm very excited about the trip. I've never taken two weeks off from work before. We get home around 11:00 p.m. in the evening of 7/25, and then I have to get on another plane the following afternoon (less than 24 hours after returning from vacation) to fly for 9.5 hours to Madrid, Spain for a business trip. I leave at 3:30 on Sunday, and arrive on Monday at 8:00 a.m. Madrid time - 1:00 a.m. my body clock time. I return from Madrid on 8/1 and leave again for another business trip to Birmingham, AL on 8/3. So I'm on the road for 4 weeks straight. Therefore, with all this travel, I'm going to take a break from posting on Smugmug for at least 5 weeks. I'll try to browse and comment as I can during this time, but I will not be able to post new photos. I'll miss you guys, but I will rejoin as soon as I can. Take care, stay safe and enjoy your family! Linda http://lgood.smugmug.com

Roaring mountain in Yellowstone in the early morning; best viewed in the larger sizes. Roaring mountain no longer roars but it does generate a lot of steam, as you can see from the photo. Quite a site in the early morning. Hope you enjoy it. Thanks, as always, for your comments on my shots. You guys are great! Well, the long weekend is almost here and I hope everyone has big plans for the holiday. We're going to go to the Cherry Creek Arts Festival on Saturday --- one of our favorite events of the year. I usually manage a few good street shots.

May12 2011 Red By now you're thinking I'm posting too many tulips. I can't help myself. :-) I shot some other stuff yesterday (http://arthill.smugmug.com/Photography/May-2011/16873679_djHLJ8#1288072837_ZZRCQQF) too but in the end... But not to worry, the tulips are fading fast around here so at most a couple more posts. I guess I just love the variety and the subtle color blends of tulips. With so many other flowers the only difference is color. Also maybe the fact that I go all winter without a chance to shoot flowers causes me to go nuts in the spring and tulips, while not the first, are the most abundant. Have a great day.
01.08.15 - Beautiful Music Well after a few days off I'm back! Thank-you for the words of support and the kind generosity of friends from the Dailies on Facebook that have helped me through this tough time. I'm still not entirely sure what to do long term regarding photography as a business, but it is going to be hard to let it go completely. This is a street musician in Lincoln yesterday, she was making the most beautiful sounds with her see through violin, attracting big crowds and rapturous applause. I could have listened to her all day. Music is one of my passions as well as photography, especially live music.
