5/28/15 - Wood sculpture at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center by a member of the Colorado College faculty, Andy Tirado. This work of art has been at the center for some time, situated in different places and I find it more interesting and appealing every time I see it. I have a very visceral response to it...it seems to call forth a number of emotions....loneliness, hope, pleading, etc. And the craftsmanship required to construct the piece is amazing. Check it out in the largest size to see the individual pieces and their placement. Thanks for your warm response to my previous shot at the arts center. Made my day to see it in the #1 spot. I'd had a shot in my spine in the morning and then slept most of the afternoon, so I didn't get around to looking at the dailies until evening.
05-28-2015 - The American Robin (Turdus Migratorius) is a migratory songbird of the thrush family. It is named after the European Robin because of its reddish-orange breast, though the two species are not closely related. [Wiki] Shot at Manila, UT.       Link to Photo Without Frame

Pale blue bearded iris. DP148-2015 Posted Thursday, May 28. I just wanted to make a token appearance in the DailyPhotos Community posts and explain why my contributions for the next number of weeks will be sporadic at best. Last Saturday afternoon my best friend, with whom I share a house, suffered a fall. The injury he sustained has some very serious consequences, at least short term, for his ability to care for himself. My time, energy, and emotions have been consumed with helping him deal with the problems he now faces. From time to time, if and when I have an hour to spare and am in the right mood, I'll prepare some photo to post here, but I don't expect to be able to leave comments, and will completely understand if you simply want to view my photos without commenting in return. May 28, 2015 Not really superwoman, but a super woman! This is our friend Alice and she is helping break down our show booth at the Safari Club International Show. Bill is headed back down the aisle to help too. I did help on the breakdown too, but I just had to take a few photos during all the work. :) This photo was taken just moments after the show closed, and that's when all the crazy tear-down activity starts. Thank you for your comments & critiques. Have a great day! Linda http://lgood.smugmug.com
May 28 2015 Clematis Our clematis bush just started blooming. Thanks for all the great comments on yesterday's post
Cosy in Coventry This shot effectively ends my series of canal pictures from our recent trip. It shows the Coventry Canal Basin, which was renovated a few years ago. That is our boat. We pulled into Coventry on a bright afternoon. It started to rain in the evening. The next day's weather was horrible - heavy rains and gale force winds - so we decided not to move at all and to spend a second night still moored up in Coventry - snug and warm in our floating home. And thanks for ranking yesterday's damselfly shot under the top five. Much appreciated.
Chasing away the fog,,,, A shot from a foggy day at the lake. Very busy this week but getting out for shots today! Happy summer weather!! yay 28/05/15
Thursday, May 28, 2015 "FIORI" by Dale Chihuly "When love and skill work together, expect a masterpiece." ~ John Ruskin Throwback Thursday...... This "masterpiece" is from the 2009 archives and was photographed at the very first Dale Chihuly exhibit that I attended. In my opinion, everything he creates is considered a "masterpiece." At some point, there should be a whole new elite lexicon - an unfamiliar word for a familiar item, object, or thing - all of which mean "masterpiece" or better. This arrestingly vibrant creation of hand-blown glass art, which resembles a Yucca plant, offers a vibrant design and extends Chihuly's career-long penchant for placing forms in natural and unique environments. The complete "Chihuly at Cheekwood" 2010 gallery here: http://godschild.smugmug.com/ArtScape-1/Chihuly-at-Cheekwood-2010/ As a reminder, tomorrow is week three of Judy Horton's (aka fotoeffects) four week "Lexicon Challenge." I am ready; are you? Hang in there; tomorrow is Friday! Sunrise after last nights storm, WY 5 28 2015
May 28. While in Florida I saw this web and when I got closer, saw nothing like this spider before. A Spiny Orb-Weaver. Very interesting crab like design to its body. Despite their intimidating look, they are harmless to humans.
May 28, 2015 There are times when alone is the best place to be...
I was standing on the boat ramp that leads into the watter at messick point. I was at the lowest point I could get. I cropped out the gunk out of the shot and the bottom of the ramp.
Big Bird, Little Bird May 28 A great blue heron and a smaller bird flies in unison!
