4/23/2014 ~ Forgotten Beauty Antique Roses at an Abandoned House near Corsicana, Texas. This sad old house had the most incredible rose bushes growing around it. Never pruned, never fertilized, never watered except for the rain, yet they thrive. Thank you for the lovely comments on yesterday's shot of the mare in the bluebonnets! They are always much appreciated!

April 23. I never imagined I would just be driving down the road to find a peacock in someone's yard, but last weekend it happened. We hit the brakes and I got out to take some pictures. It just wouldn't open it's tail feathers for me, bummer.
2014-04-23. The Lookout. Thank you for your views/comments yesterday and the wonderful welcome back.

April 23, 2014 Bill is supervising (LOL) Graham's efforts to role up the banner (while the rest of us are packing up the booth) so that the banner doesn't get rolled up crooked and then won't fit in the tube. Graham is hard of hearing, so he doesn't have a clue what Bill is saying Nevertheless, he (Graham) rolled it up perfectly and we got on with our frantic work of tearing down & packing the booth. We were all working as quickly as possible to get all of the cases packed back in their boxes - because it's 7:00 pm PST, and after 4 days of the show, we want to get finished so we can climb on that 6:00 a.m Pacific time plane to get home. We all worked hard to pack up, and get everything loaded on the pallet. Bill's specialty (which he quickly jumped to after I took this photo) is knowing exactly which box fits which case. Of course you'd expect that after 30 years. I'm the tape queen. He puts the case in the box, and I tape it. The one job I don't do is shrink wrapping the pallet - it makes me dizzy. :-) All in all it was a good show for us, with good sales and good fun. FYI - I'm just going to post two more photos from this SCI series. Thanks for your comments. Smugmugger's ROCK! Have a lovely day today my friends. Linda http://lgood.smugmug.com
Pied Avocet - a common wading bird along the shores of the brackish ponds in Burgenland, Austria. They 'scythe' their bills from side to side searching for minuscule crabs and insects.
Wednesday, April 23, 2014 "SPRING FEVER" “It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want—oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!” ~ Mark Twain SOOC, uncropped, flash fired Thanks for your comments on my "Pretty, Poised, and Pink Azaleas" photo yesterday; it ranked #2 for the day. After photographing Sassy, the duck, in her Easter garb, I decided to tour another nearby neighborhood for photo ops. I spotted this tree and the surrounding flora and loved the setting. It was such a beautiful day. I spy the letter "O." Do you? Have a wonderful Wednesday! (photo taken 4/19/2014) My Homepage: http://www.Godschild.smugmug.com
04/23/14 Glow sticks in plastic eggs for a night time Easter egg hunt. The hunt was fun, but we did it Saturday night after I got home from work (so, around midnight) I was exhausted and feeling yucky. The three boys enjoyed it and I think we will do it next year. However, I wanted to take pictures and simply didn't have the energy to do so. I quickly snapped a few, but didn't have the focus to really arrange the eggs and do other things to set up the photos. There can always be another time to try this. I am still not feeling well. I do realize that if I am not feeling well that this is good, because it means that the chemo is doing what it is suppose to do--which is ultimately to conquer the cancer. I work til 1pm today and then (!!!) I do not go back to work until 4pm on Saturday. Hopefully, that will give me plenty of time to do nothing.

04-23-2014 "White and Bright" While walking through the neighborhood on the photo shoot the other day, I spotted this iris in one of my neighbor's yards. I had to stop and get a shot. I am much appreciative of your comments on the senior portrait yesterday. She is a beautiful girl and I am enjoying the editing so much. Donna
04-22-2014 "Pretty Girl Inside and Out" I had a photo shoot for this young lady's senior portraits yesterday. She was such a delight to photograph. This is the one she selected as her favorite and wanted to post it on Facebook. I quickly did some editing and sent it to her. We had so much fun! This was shot in my back yard. I'm so lucky to have so many places to take portraits in my yard and neighborhood. I am thankful that many of you identified the blue flowers I posted yesterday. I learned a lot from you about that pretty flower. To me is was just in a mix of wildflowers. Your comments are always so enlightening and appreciated. Donna

“Oh, my sweet summer child," Old Nan said quietly, "what do you know of fear? Fear is for the winter, my little lord, when the snows fall a hundred feet deep and the ice wind comes howling out of the north. Fear is for the long night, when the sun hides its face for years at a time, and little children are born and live and die all in darkness while the direwolves grow gaunt and hungry, and the white walkers move through the woods” ― George R.R. Martin, A Game of Thrones
