Bayview Sunrise, Bayview TX I think it's a good thing that I'm not going to be living this close to the bay when we move TX, otherwise I'd probably spend all my time on the docks. I really love seascape photography when I get a chance to do it. I really like how the long exposure effect smoothes out the water and of course the sunrise reflection. This is a two exposure HDR and the exposure times are 8 and 15 seconds. I use Photomatix Pro, version 4.1.3, but thanks to Art's question yesterday have now updated to 4.2.3. In Photomatix I use tonemapping. See my post yesterday for more info an links to Trey's HDR tutorial. Yesterday I also provided links to a new lighting show with Joel Grimes on Framed Network called Lit up, check out episode seven. Lastly, Creative Live is broadcasting live and FREE all weekend. The workshop is titled "Sales Sales Sales," taught by photo business guru Tamara Lackey. I have seen Tamara's previous workshops on Creative Live and she really knows business. Creative Live broadcasts replays all night long so you have two chances (or three if you stay up really late) to catch it. Daily photo: July 21, 2012, taken July 5, 2012
"The Road to Color" 10/16/08 While Driving today I got stuck behind a SLOW POKE on the only single lane road leading out of town and was getting frustrated so I jumped off onto this small fire road and was shocked by the colors in this tunnel like ride. it was raining pretty good all day today so there was no sun and nasty puddles everywhere but I was able to snap this by opening my sun roof and sticking the D300 out on constant focus and shot it while doing about 10 mph. I was amazed by the composition I was able to get since I was in the center of the road and being above the car it gave me some extra height then the usual eye view, I think it worked out pretty well LOL. In post I did a minor contrast adjustment and small crop off the bottom, that's it! I'm enjoying the colors here now but I see them disappearing very rapidly so I'm going to try and get some shots everyday now until their gone. It's supposed to get very cold here starting tonight in the 50's as a high during the day and low 40's to high 30's at night Brrrrrrrrrr. I got some other shots from today to process yet but I will be putting them in my Fall Colors 2008 gallery when there finished. Hope you all enjoy your day, Bill Pador
2-02: This is another from Saturday's sunset. Several people have asked if the colors are real (natural) in yesterday's. It was taken as three bracketed exposures but only at -1, 0 and 1. Then combined in Photomatix. Then final processing in Capture NX2 (mostly brightness and focus adjustments) I didn't change any colors. I did actually have to desaturate a little because the orange and reds tend to be over saturated sometimes. I used the same processing on today's post. This one was actually taken a few minutes before the one I posted yesterday, so the clouds are more orange than red or pink

Yesterday I woke up at sunrise. The sun was barely over the horizon at southeast. As I looked out of my bedroom window I saw this landscape to the northwest with the full moon as a golden coin. I at once grabbed my camera, opened the window even as the temperature was minus 10° centigrade and made some shots. Here is one of them. 10 minutes later the sun was well over the horizon, the sky was lit and the moon hardly to be seen.
2-12: Back after being very sick for almost a week. Wednesday morning I finally felt good enough to get up and take some pictures. This was taken a few minutes before sunrise on the Collindale golf course.
Yates Mill Pond - December 26, 2010
Gorgeous sunrise yesterday!!! The water was so still and the sky had such unique color. I shot all around the harbor for over 2 hours! Unlike today, where I overslept and missed the whole thing! Plymouth Harbor, Ma
