04.18.15: An opening in the forest of trees along the Parks Highway affords this wonderful view of Denali, as she is known to most Alaskans, although the maps still say Mt. McKinley. Still plenty of snow north of Anchorage and when the sun shines it is beautiful to take in the area around Denali as there are numerous places to shoot the mountain not to mention everything else along the Alaska Range.

January 30.... Yesterday's cat lives in this old house. The cat is still there, but after the photo-session I knocked on the door and the cat was let in.
Thursday, March 1, 2012 "B-17G SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY" (Flying Fortress) Marianne Williamson said, "The spiritual path is simply the journey of living our lives. Everyone is on a spiritual path; most people just don’t know it." OK, this is the final aircraft post in the series. This museum was of particular interest to me because as I have stated many times before, I have a first cousin in the Air Force, a nephew in the Marines, and my father is retired from the Army. "The Commemorative Air Force Arizona Wing Aviation Museum" complete gallery of photos is here: http://godschild.smugmug.com/Military/The-Commemorative-Air-Force/ SOOC comes this 68 year old aircraft built in 1944 and considered to be the most authentically restored flying World War II B-17 bomber in the world today. Sentimental Journey now visits an average of 60 cities and towns across the United States and Canada each year as a patriotic and educational exhibit. It is based at Falcon Field and owned by The Commemorative Air Force. Although there were 12,731 B-17's built, approximately 50 are still in existence. It operates at a cost of $2000 per hour. It has been featured in movies/television shows such as "All The Fine Young Me," "1941," and "Wings." Its nose art features a photo of Betty Gable. On the day of our visit, Sentimental Journey was one of three airplanes that tourists could take 40-45 minute flights for a fee..........$850 (for the nose) and $425 (for mid and aft fuselage). I really appreciate that you enjoyed my presentations of the various aircraft over the last few days. If you are ever in Arizona, a visit to this museum is a "no brainer." Hang in there; tomorrow is Friday! The Commemorative Air Force Wing Aviation Museum Falcon Field - 2017 N.
