N plus M, T, V, X, and Z (still have P, S, Y and U to find) This is the Waibadu steel truss bridge, built in 1856, that spans Suzhou Creek in the foreign concession in Shanghai near The Bund (promenade along the Huangpu River). According to Wikipedia, it is the first all-steel bridge, and the only surviving example of a camelback truss bridge, in China. At night the bridge is lit up and the colours change from red to green to cyan to magenta. I had my camera on a tripod and took a photo of each colour phase and pasted them together in Photoshop, blending the two colours where they joined in the middle of the bridge. The trusses could be used for a number of alphabet letters, but the more prominent are 'X's 'V's, 'M's and 'N's. The large gold-coloured building in the background is the Broadway Mansions Hotel, where I stayed while I was in Shanghai. Next week I'll be posting the rest of my photos from Burma, with some interesting portraits. 20/04/14 www.allenfotowild.com
