Strange eyes in the woods. This is just good old fashioned red-eye from flash. I'm amazed how much light bounces back from this great-horned owl's eyes. A different shot taken the same evening as one I posted a few weeks ago.
October 18, 2012 Buffalos up close and personal. Linda
Shot at the Ukrainian Village; crates of glass soda pop before aluminum cans and plastic!
June 24... This is an exact replica of a Viking ship," The Sea Stallion", built with the same materials and tools as the original, which was built in the year 1042. It is 29 meters long. July 1st 2007 65 "Vikings" were onboard again and sailed north of Scotland and the Orkney Islands and on August 15 it reached Dublin, Ireland. The reception in Dublin was considerable warmer than it was year 1042 when it was there. After huge quantities of Irish beer it set off for home. This time south of England. The route was planned considering prevailing wind-conditions.
October 19, 2012 This photo reminds me of the old saying, "Let sleeping dogs lie." Indeed that seemed appropriate as I spied & got up close to this sleeping buffalo near the buildings at Morman Row, Wyoming. Thanks so much for your comments yesterday of my "up close" shot of the buffalos in the Aspens. Life is crazy, work and taking care of Bill is taking a lot of my time, so I've been very remiss on commenting. I'll try to catch up over the weekend if I can. Just know that I enjoy hearing from you. Have a fantastic day my friends! Linda

March 6 - Collecting Pollen Got the day off today, so took a drive and came across some flowers (think its a crocus) and there were plenty of wasps around trying to get at the pollen.
March 6, 2015 Jasper Fireworks * There is an incredible fireworks show each year at Jasper in January. I plan my annual trip to Jasper around this pyrotechnics display. It is a great opportunity to shoot fireworks. The show usually lasts at least 15 minutes!

03-06-2015 "Before the Freeze" It was 70 day before yesterday and I saw these beautiful flowers blooming. With the ice and snot that came through yesterday, I'm sure they are not as pretty. Shot with my iPhone. Thank you for comments on my photos. Donna
View from the Aloe Trail... Los Angeles Arboretum and Botanic Garden Arcadia, CA Thank you for your views and comments! Critiques welcome... March 5, 2015
I love tulips and my bouquet is almost done. Mike Moats teaches that we should shoot the unusual with flowers; not always the perfect stem.
03.05.15 Happy Birthday me (yesterday) Thanks for the awesome comments on the Hit-and-Run Snowman picture. I made a carrot cake for my birthday. I sort of used my mom's recipe. Sometimes she would add a can of drained crushed pineapple. I did that. I've been experimenting with substitutions for sugar and/or oil/shortening in recipes. This time I substituted with apple sauce and a ripe banana. This was the best carrot cake I've ever had. Now I need to figure out how to make a healthier cream cheese frosting.
Sunday, May 15, 2011 "ANTIQUE CHEVY" (pp version) "Keep calm and drive a Chevy!" ~ Unknown Author Linda (aka Lgood) is one of the absolute best at capturing automobile shots and their reflections, and I immediately thought of her when I spotted this GM classic. Unfortunately, there wasn't an information card, so I am unsure as to the year of this "oldie but goodie." My hubby's guess is it's a "1930 something Chevy." The pink sign made spectators chuckle. It warned, "UNLESS YOU ARE NUDE.....PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH MY CHEVY! BUCKLES, BELTS, AND BUTTONS SCRATCH." As you can see, I did some pp with this one, but it is uncropped.
