18.09.14 - Dribbler I got 4 shots of this young swan on my way into town along the river yesterday afternoon. This is my favourite because it captured the combination of water drops, ripples and shadows best.. This guy is probably about 6 months old, almost as big as an adult but still with juvenile feathers.

Friday, September 19, 2014 "MOUTH #15" by Tom Wesselmann (1968) "Listen more than you talk—and resist the temptation to fill awkward conversation gaps with awkward conversation. The uncomfortable silence is always better than saying something silly you may regret later." ~ Emily Bennington Thank you for your overwhelmingly kind comments on yesterday's "Sushi Sofa." It was the #5 photo of the day. I don't eat Sushi, but my hubby does; and when I thought about the appearance of the couch, my thoughts reflected to a photo that I posted of Sushi on April 9, 2012 here: http://godschild.smugmug.com/Foodtography/Edible/i-6TJSR9M/A "Tom Wesselmann appropriated imagery from pop culture, incorporating magazine photos and newspaper ads into his frank depictions of American domestic interiors populated by female nudes. Later, focusing on individual body parts such as feet, mouths, and breasts, Wesselmann began to imagine them as disembodied, often on a monumental scale. In his Mouth series Wesselmann depicts a single female mouth on a canvas shaped to the contours of the lips. Like Warhol’s use of Marilyn Monroe’s lips, Wesselmann’s Mouth paintings investigate how sex is used to sell celebrity. Mouth #15 is a three-quarter-length view of a black-and-white laughing mouth that is at once seductive, remote, and ominous." September 18, 2014 Another photo from our trek into the Narrows of Zion National Park. We rented water shoes, thermal socks and walking sticks the day before the 8 mile trek. Thank goodness that we did. I told Bill that being a shoe girl, I was having a hard time wearing these ugly shoes. His reply, "Well you can't walk the Narrows in high heels." So right he was. LOL - what an awesome experience, we will do this again sometime. Have a beautiful day today my friends! Linda http://lgood.smugmug.com Late Post - I was a day behind on my opening comment, and greatly pleased to know today is Thursday, not Wednesday.
Sept. 19. Happen to have camera in hand while the boat sailed under the bridge and able to quickly capture this abstract.
Shot with all natural light, no retouching.
Buckskin Gulch Golden Wall In long Buckskin Gulch, sometimes the canyon opens up and creates incredible, amazing lush sections. The wash provides water and enough lights comes through to allow trees to thrive.
