One of the earliest woodland wildflowers, and to my eyes, the loveliest. Bloodroot, Sanguinaria canadensis, native to northeast North America. DP108-2015 Posted Saturday, April 18. Taken April 17, Hidden Lake Gardens, Michigan Title: Bloodroot Bursting to Life

Dreamy trees
April 18, 2015 Another shot of the Bradford Pear Tree blossoms. Love these trees and so happy to have three in our yard. Thank you for your comments and critiques! Have a happy day today my friends! Linda http://www.lgood.smugmug.com
4/18/15 - I recently processed this shot taken a bit outside Olympic National Park in Washington, I think someone was actually living here. It definitely gives you a good idea of how damp it is there. We saw many houses with moss growing on their roof shingles. It must be a constant maintenance effort to keep it off. Thanks for your comments and sympathy of the spring snow shot. Hopefully, it did not last long enough to damage the blooming trees too much.
18/04/15 lane ways are a little dull till budding begins so these were on sale in a garden center. Rob went to the driving range across the road from here and I had such a hard time choosing what color I wanted. The pinks were stunning but they had soft creamy colors with tints of purple, peach and pale rose in the middle of the blooms. These blues were the healthiest!! yay sunny day!!
Sun - I'm not sure if this was due to distant smoke or something else just above the horizon. Taken near Olympia, Wa. I really appreciate the comments!
I'm continuing my exploration of what is available in my various new photo-editing toys. It would take a lifetime to learn all the capabilities, but as long as each day brings a new experience, I'm happy. This is a rather ordinary scene of late-blooming zinnias and verbena rendered more dramatic with the application of one of the styles or effects or filters in the Topaz Labs Impression package. The effect is 'Chiaroscuro', with some tweaking of the sliders and a blend mode change within that package, as opposed to being within Photoshop. Back in PS, I added a tiny touch of poster edges, which brings up the brush strokes in the underlying filter. For comparison, see the regular version here: http://smu.gs/1AsPCzc DP061-2015 Posted Monday, March 2; processed March 1 Taken at the Gateway Garden at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens, Ann Arbor, October 6, 2014 Title: Chiaroscuro - Light and Shadow
