27.12.14 - Snowy River What a difference a smattering of overnight snow makes! This is the first snow to fall on Lincoln for almost 2 years so I couldn't wait to get out in it with the camera.
Day 356- Tree and Afternoon Sun - Dec 27. What a treat the weather was today. Wonderful to have a walk in the warm late afternoon sun.
Day 357- NYSkyline-Tribute to Slain Officers - Dec 28. Last night the Empire State building tower was lit in blue with the spire featuring red and white revolving lights to simulate a police car flashing light. The colors were to honor the two New York police officers who where ambushed and killed while sitting in their police car.
12/25/2011 Hope everyone has a Safe and Happy Holiday Season. Thank you for your wonderful comments.

May 23, 2014 Red is my favorite color followed closely behind by purple. In fact when Bill and I got married (5 years ago May 15th) our color scheme for the wedding and reception was red & purple. I'm don't have much of a green thumb, but a friend gave me some purple Iris plants a few years ago, and they are doing very well. Recently I put the macro lens on and walked around the backyard (still needs more work) and took some photos. I was trying to get a good macro shot of the Iris and the details inside. This is the shot that I liked the best. Hope you enjoy. "Since Iris is the Greek goddess for the Messenger of Love, her sacred flower is considered the symbol of communication and messages. Greek men would often plant an iris on the graves of their beloved women as a tribute to the goddess Iris, whose duty it was to take the souls of women to the Elysian fields." ~ Hana No Monogatari, from "The Stories of Flowers" Have an awesome day today my friends!!! February 11... Beach #5. Nuclear explosion? Thanks for all your comments on my preceding 4 Beach shots of which 2 reach #1 in the daily ranking. Much appreciated..
April 24... Hurrah, we are so happy today. We have survived Easter so far. My web-suppliers server has been very unreliable the last few days. I try to upload and make comments today.

October 28, 2014 I probably should have saved this for a Halloween shot. My imagination sees a Screaming Monkey, a Roaring Lion (on the right side of the photo), and dark hand on the left side of the photo and an orange shark in the mid-section/left of the photo. This is another of my 100s of photos of Upper Antelope Canyon. Endlessly amazing & full of mystery and mistique. My imagination was on fire as I looked at all the watery waves of the canyon walls and the shapes, and what they reminded me of. Thanks for indulging me on the Antelope Canyon shots - many were tough shots with big sun and blown out areas. But what a tour of a lifetime! I appreciate your comments and critiques. If I were an expert in Photoshop, I could have taken out the blown areas - but alas I am no expert. I'm a novice at best. As I continue to work through the vacation photos, you may see a few more from the Antelope Canyons. "In more recent years, I've become more and more fascinated with the indigenous folklore of this land, Native American folklore, and also Hispanic folklore now that I live in the Southwest." ~Terri Windling Have a warm & wonderful day my friends! December 26, 2014: Holiday bits.
06/12/14 " I'll help with the tree as soon as I'm clean." Our other kitty ,"Dodger". Named after the Artful Dodger ,while we tried to catch her as she streaked through our yard in 2011 for a whole Summer. Noel is the other one with the sour look and Oscar was left here by a former owner of the house. He wants to stay on his deck ; so we'll look after him. It would be nice to get a portrait of all in front of the tree, but you can see how cooperative our kitties are! LOL
