May 24, 2015 Here's another "backyard" shot with the Tamron 150-600 lens. The lens performed very well, but it's heavy, although I'm hearing that it's the lightest weight of the three that I'm going to rent. We'll see. I didn't have a lot of time to take it out for more of a test drive while I had it. But my exploration of the backyard and surrounding countryside, it did well. It was cloudy every time I took it out, so the ISO was high. Nevertheless, I was ok with the resulting shots. This is definitely a contender for going to Alaska with me. This is a couple of lonely Bluebonnets (the Texas State Flower) that are still hanging on, but fading fast. Two girls playing with streamers #1 Which version do you prefer, #1 or #2? When I was editing the photos, I couldn't decide between this one for the Daily Photo, or the one shown here (followed by some others from the village): http://goo.gl/LAOUkN We arrived at Huanggang Dong Village, Guizhou Province, China during a wedding ceremony with the whole village turned out to celebrate. There were many, many firecrackers being set off and the streets were deep in their remnants and also streamers and other bits of paper.
Crow - taken near Olympia, Wa. I really appreciate the comments!
May 24 2015 Iris My daughter's neighbor grows these in the front yard, Thanks for all the great comments on my hibiscus shot yesterday.
Storks at sunrise Pair of Jabiru storks on their nest at sunrise. Every evening the storks went back to their large messy nest on the Fazenda St Tereza and very morning just after sunrise they flew off to fish. I had to get up early to catch them still on the nest. Pixaim River, Pantanal, Brazil A shot of the storks just after returning to their nest at dusk can be seen here + a couple of other shots of them at sunrise: http://goo.gl/XiTqH4 19/04/15 www.allenfotowild.com

May 24, 2015 I love doors, these are the entrance way to an old church meeting hall.
23.05.15 - South Common These shots are from my guided photo walk on Lincoln South Common yesterday afternoon. The Common is an ancient piece of rough open land on the hillside opposite the Cathedral, it is owned by the local Council and protected from development so it is a very valuable green space with fantastic view across the city. As well as the big views there is lots to photograph right under your feet, and the resident horses are always co-operative!
05.24.15 Alpaca. I love this face. Have a good Sunday.
