Gorgeous sunrise yesterday!!! The water was so still and the sky had such unique color. I shot all around the harbor for over 2 hours! Unlike today, where I overslept and missed the whole thing! Plymouth Harbor, Ma
Angel Boy, Columbia MO Big Red sitting on guard in the sun at the end of our bed. Isn't he a handsome boy? We have lots of nicknames for Big Red and not all of them are very flattering. But in this photo I think he resembles "Angel Boy," the nickname I use most when he's behaving like a perfect angel (very rarely used nickname). And the light was so beautiful on him that it could have been shining down from heaven directly. Fitting for an Angel Boy. This is a single exposure (seven days in a row with no HDR!). I really like to use natural light. In this case I wish I would have turned up the ISO a stop or two and increased my shutter speed so I could get a sharper image handheld at this range. But I'm quite happy with this exposure. I have not converted many photos to black and white in recent memory and this is one of the first I've tried using Lightroom3. February 21, 2011 - "Restoration Questionable" This vehicle is on display in front of some Key West stores. I did some research and believe that nameplate on the hood is part of the original vehicle. Your response to my Key West sunset image was greatly appreciated.
Happy Valentine's Day!!!! POTD February 14, 2011 - Best viewed in X2 This classic Ford truck is really red, but I was experimenting with PP - just playing around really. But I kind of liked this effect. I particularly liked the reflections of the Mustang in the side, the grass in the wheels and the understated color of this beauty. Best viewed in x large to see the fine detail. Here's the 'original' shot straight out of the camera: http://lgood.smugmug.com/gallery/12442807_L6QVo/#1187288707_Bu2oA Thanks for all you kind comments this week. Have a good one!!!! Best regards., Linda

Picture #191 -Painted Sunrise Just a photo I revisited after hearing the seminar and trying a few things... I never take what others say even if it is at a seminar as gospel... It may be something that worked for them but I still use my own head and try different things. clarity- adds shadow to dark areas, vibrance- is far better than using saturation because it makes all the colors brighter and he stated rarely do you need all of them brighter. Vibrance adds a color punch to in areas where there is less saturation. 1) It makes any color that is dull more bright, 2) it does very little to the colors that are already bright, 3) it does it's best to avoid skin tones altogether... so is much more controllable than saturation is.... well, that's what the speaker said but each to their own I say you know best what works for you.. this is an old photo from 9/09 that I had never processed because of the difficult lighting but was much easier trying some of the new techs.. have a great day.. I get to babysit Chloe again Mon... :-) connie
