Another very colorful bird...love that red!
February 1, 2015 As most of you know, I'm rather hopeless with identifying most flowers and plants (not to mention birds), so I'm not sure what these lovely blooms are. I kind of think they might be Peonies, but that's a total guess. I would welcome an expert's opinion of what these lovely flowers are. This is another photo from Butchart Gardens near Victoria, Canada. It had been raining hard before we got there, and then it changed into a gentle mist. We braved the weather & it was so worth it because this place is totally amazing. If ever you are near Victoria, Butchart Gardens is a must see place. Thank you for your comments and critiques. "Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" ~ Douglas Adams I wish you a bloom filled day of beauty my friends! 2/1/15 - The bar in the Hacienda Colorado Restaurant; you probably all know how much I like shooting in low light bars because the lights on the bottles are usually pretty neat! Thanks for your comments on my shot of the grass seedheads laid low by the hoarfrost. This morning they were standing back straight up!
February 1, 2015 In the summer, this little river is full of families tubing. Looks a bit cold right now :) Monkton, MD

Sunset - taken in August 2014 in Snake River Birds of Prey area near Kuna, ID. I've been posting too many eagle pictures lately so here's a little variety :) I really appreciate the comments and interest in my Northern Shrike shot! Thank you
31.01.15 - End of Times, Alien Skies This is image completes my 7th year on the Dailies, I didn't manage an unbroken year because I was ill back in October, but when I started my first year I wondered if I could even complete that! I'll be starting my 8th year tomorrow morning, hoping to find new challenges and things to try. This collage is a selection of my recent alien skies experiments, inspired by the guys at Roscosmos. The night time ones are spectacular but less believable than the misty ones I think. I wonder what Year 8 will bring? Thanks you to everyone who has stuck by me over the last 7 years supporting and commenting on my work. You all know what a challenge it is trying to find a shot a day :)
