10-25-2014 - Neat Costume but it was too HOT for the weather that we were having...         Link to Photo Without Frame
October 25, 2014 If you recall yesterday I talked about the things you will see in Upper Antelope Canyon. In this shot, I imagined a bear in the upper right corner of the frame. Lighting in the canyon can be a challenge for a photographer that's being hurried along by the tour guide; and, the crush of a whole army of people in the narrow slot canyon at the same time can be difficult to get good shots. Many times the passages were so narrow, and there were so many people, that we had to pass each other chest to chest to keep moving. The next time Bill and I go to Antelope Canyon, I will definitely do the photographer's tour so that there are less people, more time and you can use a tripod. On our tour, all my shots were handheld. "Nature will bear the closest inspection. She invites us to lay our eye level with her smallest leaf, and take an insect view of its plain." ~ Henry David Thoreau Use your imagination today my friends to see the wonders that are all around you. Pair of Canada geese with seven goslings (best larger). Now in Japan and had a chance to post a photo, which I like because the seven goslings are all facing in the same direction and are bunched up between the two adults, with each little head clearly seen. 25/10/14 www.allenfotowild.com

10/25/14 - Chihuly at the Denver Botanic Gardens; I love the chartreuse greens against the shades of blue with the white water lily flowers and their pads before the sculpture. Hope you like this one! Thanks for your comments on my shot of the drawbridge! Remember Indigo's Pink Challenge for Breast Cancer Awareness on Sunday! Think PINK!
Great Blue Heron - Nisqually Wildlife Refuge near Olympia, Wa.
Last weekend's event organizers set up displays where visitors could photo their children. I could resist taking a shot of these guys.
October 25, 2014 Time to sit back and swing.
10-25-2014 "My Horns Are Bigger Than Yours" This cow was one of the animals at the pumpkin patch. They kept calling it but it wouldn't get up. They told us the horns were hollow. It is not like most of the cows we have here. Your comments are always appreciated. Donna
25/10/14 We cooked a squash for dinner but I've only ever used pumpkins for pies and jack o lanterns. They are really pretty though! Nice and sunny all day, but cool. Sadness in our city and along the Highway of Heroes today as Nathan came home. I can't get near the Armory where he served because of the crowds , but will try to get photos later. One of the saddest shots posted on the news was of his two dogs with their noses pushed under the gate in his back yard. He rescued them from the pound and promoted this to others.

My little friend Zeus spent the day with me. When he climbed up on the back of our sofa I saw a great chance to try a little work with back lighting using the window and a very cute little guy. I thought this shot came out OK ...........
