August 31, 2015 WOW! Thank you for your comments on my Majestic Moutainscape photo yesterday. I really appreciated them very much! As I mentioned on a photo posted a few days/weeks ago, one of the highlights of our time in Vancouver, BC was a visit to the Bloedel Conservatory. This is but a tiny fraction of the gorgeous flowers we saw while there. More photos coming in time for this place. "Flowers... are a proud assertion that a ray of beauty outvalues all the utilities of the world." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson Thank you for your comments and critiques. Take time to savor the day, and stop and smell the roses today my friends. Linda http://lgood.smugmug.com

08-31-2015 "A Day on the Tchefuncte" The Tchefuncte river is in south Louisiana. This shot was taken in the town of Madisonville. We used to take our boat up the river from Mandeville on Lake Ponchartrain to Madisonville and have lunch at Morton's. It was always a fun day on the water. Thanks for commenting on my photos. The cube of Zoroaster (5th C BC) and the Tomb of Darius II (423-404 BC) at the Naqsh-e Rostam UNESCO site, Marvdasht, Iran. The structure of the Ka'bah is similar to the tomb of Cyrus I at Pasardagae (530 BC) and is thought to be an Achaemenid tomb. It appears to be built on a similar base isolated structure to the Cyrus I tomb which helps it to resist earthquakes and contributes to its remarkable preservation today. The building, with one inner chamber is decorated with recessed false windows.
