Homing in on a fish #2 (best largest) Common black hawk (Buteogallus anthracinus), homes in on a fish on the Pixaim River, Pantanal, Brazil. This hawk flew a little slower than the Black collared hawk that was lightening fast and so hard to capture. My D810 at 1/3200 sec and 6 fps was able to keep up with this hawk and gave me some nice sequences of shots. Dec. 27. One of the small sea turtles you can pick up at The Turtle Farm, Grand Cayman. Their little heads are so cute and shells are just perfect.
12/27/14 - My granddaughter, Quinn, as Arabian Coffee in the Nutcracker, Dec. 2014; she's 16. The situation was difficult, as the light was generally quite low, she was moving, my vantage point was far on the left side, and I was handholding the camera and not using the flash. I was pretty pleased with most of the images, given the difficult shooting conditions. Thanks for your comments on my shot of the door handle. Much appreciated!
Dec.26,2014 SEE WHAT FELL OUT OF SANTA'S SLEIGH INTO OUR TREE,,,,,
December 27, 2014 This is a quick shot from our first family Christmas get together with my sister and her family. We almost always have large celebrations in Bill's workshop - so we were once again in the workshop for this Christmas party. Two days before we had 80 people from Americase celebrating Christmas at our workshop. It is a great venue for parties, and Bill loves it for his R&D work.. It's large enough that the kids can play, they can ride bikes inside, the adults can visit, it's heated and cooled, it has satellite TV, music and plenty of room for all kinds of fun. In this shot, you can see my oldest Nephew Nick taking his son Cade for a ride on one of the skooters that we keep for the kids to play on. He was having such a good time with Dad. The girl in pink that is flying around them and headed to the back of the workshop is Alyssa, my sister's oldest grandchild. We had loads of fun, and today is the next family Christmas get together with Bill's children and our grandchildren. It was impossible to get a common date for the whole family, so we broke it into two celebrations - we are blessed that we got to spend time with all the family! Have an awesome day today my friends! I sure am enjoying all your holiday photos. Linda http://lgood.smugmug.com

Red-Tailed Hawk - Nisqually Wildlife Refuge
Day 355- NY Skyline-One World Trade Sundown- Dec 26. Not new subject matter and similar to images that I've posted before but after all of the days of rain and fog that we've had, I couldn't resist some pretty sundown color. A view of lower Manhattan and One World Trade Center in sundown light viewed from New Jersey.
Sparrowhawk Out for a walk in the Danube Wetlands National Park yesterday, something caught my eye. The large uncropped shot was with my 400mm & 1.4 converter, the inset shows the sparrowhawk sitting on a dead tree root, surveying the reeds and the pond between us.

26.12.14 - Riverland Boxing Day was cold and grey in the UK, with a band of sleet and snow moving in from the west later in the day. We're in the east so we stayed dry until after dark, and by the time the bad weather arrived it was cold enough for it to snow. I could have posted some shots of snow falling on the garden in the dark, but this shot from the afternoon dog walk is probably a bit more interesting :)
12.27.14 Life can be surreal.
