03.05.15 - After the Storm This is my daughter Amy and Mr Willis by the river yesterday afternoon just after a large storm passed over. It had been a beautiful afternoon, then this storm came along and brought thunder and lightning for about 20 minutes. Luckily it was gone as soon as it has arrived and Willis got his tea time walk
May 4. Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse. It was initially installed on a shallow shoal, Seven Foot Knoll, at the mouth of the Patapsco River. The northern reach of this river is the Baltimore Harbor, where the now-decommissioned lighthouse has been placed as a museum. In 1997 the lighthouse was transferred to the Baltimore Maritime Museum where it is located today. It was built in 1855 and is the oldest screw-pile lighthouse in Maryland. Yesterday we spent the entire day in Baltimore City and drove around without a trace of unrest. A few added Police officers and some National Guard, but looks nothing like the chaos we've been seeing on TV over the last week.
05-04-2015 "Our Pitcher" Sutton has been playing softball for a number of years. She has always played catcher. To my surprise Saturday she pitched. I am so proud of her. Thank you for your comments on my photo. Donna
This is a house I often walk past on my way to the main entrance to Nichols Arboretum. This room has windows on opposite walls, facing east (far window) and west. On this morning, the sun passing through the window blinds of the the east window created interesting semi-silhouettes. Reflections of the trees on the west side of the house showed up most strongly in the darkened areas of the windows. Yet details of the fascinating round object in the window still came through. The plumes of ornamental grass along the rightside of the window are inside. They're not reflections from outside. DP124-2015 Posted late Monday, May 4. I've been playing hooky from being on smugmug, I'm afraid. The blooming season is in full swing, and the weather has been great. I'll try to catch up with commenting by the end of the evening. 05/04/15: Sometimes life will take you to a crossroad and you have to make a decision on which path to follow. It's not always easy, but a choice must be made.
Update: I may not be posting or commenting much until Thursday or Friday this week. Black-Capped Chickadee - taken near Olympia, Wa. I really appreciate the comments and the interest in my noisy Northern Flicker shot!
