6/4/15 - Fluffy female robin; I'd never seen a robin so puffed up. She was cleaning her feathers. Check out the feather detail in the largest size. There were so many little branches around that I had difficulty getting the camera to focus on the robin. Thanks for your comments on my final Lexicon entry "sloom." Don't feel bad if you were a bit confused over whether the challenge was still on; I forgot it myself and had already posted a daily when I remembered it was Friday. Thanks to everyone who participated in the Lexicon challenges. It was a lot of fun for me; I hope you all enjoyed it, too. Happy 4th of July to all Americans!
July 4, 2015 Happy American Independence Day! I didn't have any good 4th of July celebration photos to share, so I thought I would share this little cutie dressed up in her red, white and blue. This is 6-month old Alexa with her patriotic pinwheel, and her cute little red, white and blue outfit. Thank you for your comments and critiques. "No other date on the calendar more potently symbolizes all that our nation stands for than the Fourth of July." ~ Mac Thornberry Have an awesome celebration today my friends! July 3, 21015 This is a shot taken during the family outing to ride the historic Texas State Railroad steam train from Palestine to Rusk, Texas and back again. About 1/2 way along the route, we passed another of the historic trains making the same trek. I almost forgot about the final Friday of Judy's lexicon challenge, but I was at a bit of a loss for a photo to post, so here's a couple of "sort of" lexicons for the word train: Caravan, Convoy, Concatenation (as in a connection or a chain) and consecution (arrangement, order, procession, series). Thank you for your comments and critiques! Have a fantastic day today friends, and I'm hoping you are looking forward to all the Independence Day celebrations this weekend. June 24, 2015 This is a close up of a latch on one of the cases made by Bill's company Americase. I particularly liked the reflections of the colors from the clothing that the people standing nearby created in the Aluminum case and stainless steel latch. Thank you for your comments and critiques. Have a colorful day today my friends! Linda http://www.lgood.smugmug.com
July 4, 2015 HAPPY FOURTH TO ALL U.S. SMUGGERS!! IT IS SUNNY AND WARM AND WILL BE FOR THE NEXT FOUR DAYS . I'M OK WITH THAT,, CAUSE i'M GETTING OUT TO THE LAKE WITH MY CAMERA. HOPE EVERYONE SOUTH OF THE BORDER SEES WONDERFUL FIREWORKS!!!
"Romantic" bridge Also part of the Laxenburg park (previous two POTD), this bridge is also only about 180 years old - built to look pleasing in the landscape. The style is more Gothic than Romantic, but you get my point. Thanks for ranking yesterday's "Dark and Stormy" shot under the top ten.
