Black-crowned Night Heron Juvenile - taken on Maui. I really appreciate the comments!
03.04.15 We got snow. EL Jay and I built a couple snowmen. The idea was to "dress" each one in my foto booth props. But then El Jay had the idea to build them behind the car and run them over. So we did. We had a lot of fun.
Bracket or shelf fungus on tree trunk, with accents of lichen and leaves. For a shot of more of the trunk for context and size reference, see here: http://smu.gs/1M6rxXG . From that shot you'll see that this trunk actually does lean to the left, as shown here. DP063-2015 Posted Wednesday, March 4; processed March 3 Standing downhill from this tree trunk gave me a good view of the underside of these excresences. About the only extra processing was a slight bit of outlining on the fungi, and a bit of poster edges on the tree trunk. Taken October 15, 2014 at Crooked Lake, Michigan Title: Fall Fungi Thanks so much for all the kind words about yesterday's orchid shot. I think pretty much everybody loves orchids. And why not? Wednesday, March 4, 2015 "CLASSY SASSY IN HER WINTER GARB" "That's my gift. I let that negativity roll off me like water off a duck's back. If it's not positive, I didn't hear it. If you can overcome that, fights are easy." ~ George Foreman I had to stop by and see what Sassy was wearing this winter. Her owners are way back in the day graduates of Ole Miss and therefore, Ole Miss Rebels Black Bear fans. The last time I saw and photographed her (which was during football season), she was decked out in her Ole Miss cheerleader garb. View that photo here: http://godschild.smugmug.com/FortheLoveofFunnyHumor/For-the-Love-of-Funny-Humor/i-XQMdSkT/A Thank you for perusing, commenting on, and/or giving my photos a "thumbs up." Have a wonderful Wednesday! (photo taken 1/28/2015) My Homepage: www.Godschild.smugmug.com
March 4, 2015 Thanks to each of you for your amazing comments and critiques on my window shadow photo yesterday, I was just blown away and very grateful. The diverse beauty of America never ceases to amaze me. This gorgeous vista is just outside of Jerome, Arizona. At this scenic spot, you can see almost forever. The layers and colors of the landscape beyond this point which rise to the horizon to meet the sky and clouds is just breathtaking. If ever you find yourself here, I assure you that you will be forever grateful to have seen this lovely view. "Years ago - in the 70s, for about a decade - I carried a camera every place I went. And I shot a lot of pictures that were still life and landscape, using available light." ~ Leonard Nimoy RIP Leonard Nimoy Have a beautiful day today my friends. Linda http://lgood.smugmug.com
3/4/15 - Full moon on a snowy night; I took two shots...one to get a decent exposure of the trees and another to get the moon properly exposed. Then I cut out the moon and moved it to replace the other moon which was overexposed. It was almost a full moon, but not quite. Thanks for your comments on my shot of the icy lace. I really enjoy reading your comments every day and am so happy to have such good friends with whom I share a passion.
A B&W moment, by Mother Nature Mar 3 Nothing like a fresh snowfall to transform the ordinary into something photogenic!

Day 062: Tulips in a Vase - Mar 3. Snowing, raining - just plain messy here. Picked up a few tulips this morning when I was in supermarket. Really want to learn how to use textures. Can anyone recommend a good place to get a few to start out - either free or inexpensive?

March 4 2015 We're back from cold, rainy Florida. :-) I've never taken fewer pictures on a one week trip. Found this sign at a store we stopped at on the way to the airport.
March 4, 2015 Lancaster, PA I had no idea the inside of the buggies were so fancy. Look at the red quilted door.
