07-02-2015 "Canna" This orange and yellow canna blooms in a neighbor's yard. Thank you for your comments on my photos and thanks for taking a look at the magazine article. Donna
Thursday, July 2, 2015 "B BALL" "My responsibility is getting all my players playing for the name on the front of the jersey, not the one on the back." ~ Author Unknown Throwback Thursday..... "B Ball(s)" - the name given to basketballs by our two and a half year old grand-prince, and thus, the caption. Photographed with my Nikon 70-300 mm zoom lens after photographing a sunset and the Southern Magnolia leaves (yesterday's photo). I hadn't used the lens in a long time. It's a heavy beast, but it's versatile and gets the job done. Tomorrow is week 8 (grand finale) of Judy's (aka fotoeffects) "Lexicon Challenge." I am ready; are you? Have a "slam dunk, 3-point" kind of day! (photo taken 4/1/2015) My Homepage: www.GodsChild.SmugMug.com
01.07.15 - Safari Here is something completely different from me, some old shots from a safari on the Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru in Kenya in the late 1990s. I was prompted to check out some old transparencies and make this collage after a discussion about heat and high temperatures, as yesterday was apparently the hottest July day in the UK on record. The temperature reached 92F in Lincoln, but was higher at Heathrow airport where the record was actually broken. My personal record is 126F in Death Valley, California by the way!
07.02.15 Ghostly Boy El Jay does not like having his picture taken and it is hard to get him to sit still. The light was difficult and in this one, he moved out of the frame before the exposure was complete--giving it a double exposure look. Yesterday I was notified that one of the images I entered in the Springville Art City Days Balloon Fest photo contest won 1st place. YAY Me! July 2. This balloon glided over the house yesterday. Love colorful surprises like this!
Cape Hatteras light is the beacon in the sky
07.01.15 When Piggy-Banks Fly I know that the phrase "when pigs fly" is used to mean something won't happen. Never. What is the meaning when a piggy bank flies? And is this a good thing or bad thing.
July 1 2015 Celebrating My birthday is tomorrow but we had the family celebration on Sunday. We stopped for this picture after dinner. My ten year old granddaughter Lindsey took this with my heavy DSLR. I think she's got it.
Day 181: Hydrangea Flowers-Pink and Blue - July 1. Two hydrangea plants side by side in pink and blue make for a pretty combination with the yellow new flowers opening and bright green leaves.
July 1, 2015: Urban woodchuck checks on the morning commute.
