"The Bradford Blossom"...03/05/2015...
March 6 - Collecting Pollen Got the day off today, so took a drive and came across some flowers (think its a crocus) and there were plenty of wasps around trying to get at the pollen.
October 18, 2012 Buffalos up close and personal. Linda
I love tulips and my bouquet is almost done. Mike Moats teaches that we should shoot the unusual with flowers; not always the perfect stem.
March 5 - Ivy
Sunday, May 15, 2011 "ANTIQUE CHEVY" (pp version) "Keep calm and drive a Chevy!" ~ Unknown Author Linda (aka Lgood) is one of the absolute best at capturing automobile shots and their reflections, and I immediately thought of her when I spotted this GM classic. Unfortunately, there wasn't an information card, so I am unsure as to the year of this "oldie but goodie." My hubby's guess is it's a "1930 something Chevy." The pink sign made spectators chuckle. It warned, "UNLESS YOU ARE NUDE.....PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH MY CHEVY! BUCKLES, BELTS, AND BUTTONS SCRATCH." As you can see, I did some pp with this one, but it is uncropped. God is and has been exceptionally kind to all of us; have a blessed and safe Sunday, everyone. Red Sand Beach, Maui Soft morning light touches the rocks, ocean and red sand on this Hana Beach, Hawaii.
Black Sand Beach, Maui Green palm trees and lush vegetation growing out of the volcanic sand of Waianapanapa State Park framed the black sandy beach at sunrise.
Bamboo Forest Trail found about midway on the PIpiwai Trail in Haleakala National Park, Maui. This is the coolest trail and one of the most unique I've ever done. The huge bamboo forest engulfs all hikers into a whole new universe until you reach the end of the trail at a spectacular waterfall.
October 19, 2012 This photo reminds me of the old saying, "Let sleeping dogs lie." Indeed that seemed appropriate as I spied & got up close to this sleeping buffalo near the buildings at Morman Row, Wyoming. Thanks so much for your comments yesterday of my "up close" shot of the buffalos in the Aspens. Life is crazy, work and taking care of Bill is taking a lot of my time, so I've been very remiss on commenting. I'll try to catch up over the weekend if I can. Just know that I enjoy hearing from you. Have a fantastic day my friends! Linda
Monday, June 24, 2013 "MONDAY BLUES" “The best color in the whole world is the one that looks good on you!” ~ Coco Chanel SOOC, uncropped, flash fired "I think a number of us agree that Mondays are the most difficult transition. Although it has the same number of hours as the rest of the days, our internal clocks naturally operate on a day that is longer than 24 hours. It seems that it takes ages to get Monday over. We just had two glorious days off free from stress and doing stuff we love to do. Now we are back at work facing piles of tasks that meeting deadlines, list of appointments or some difficult unsolved tasks that we don’t really feel like doing." ~ Reprinted texts from http://www.123Greetings.com "Hey, come on… No matter we like it or not, we still have to get things done and to get the day over. Let's take some of the control back and make ourselves feel good by doing small things that can redirect your focus, such as share with your colleague about the fun you have over the weekend, reading some jokes, positive quotes or watch a short fun video. Let's fill up the Monday Blues with some colours." ~ Reprinted texts from http://www.123Greetings.com Here's the final test shot of one of my favorite necklaces taken with the new 35mm lens. I placed one of my crinkled blouses underneath as a backdrop. Someone apologized for posting a comment prior to me posting my "Starter Comment." Don't get the blues and "sweat the small stuff" regarding comments being posted prior to the "Starter Comment." I don't mind at all. Have a beautiful "blue" Monday! ***#1 photo of the day and all-time*** (photo taken 6/22/2013) My Homepage: http://www.Godschild.smugmug.com
June 24... This is an exact replica of a Viking ship," The Sea Stallion", built with the same materials and tools as the original, which was built in the year 1042. It is 29 meters long. July 1st 2007 65 "Vikings" were onboard again and sailed north of Scotland and the Orkney Islands and on August 15 it reached Dublin, Ireland. The reception in Dublin was considerable warmer than it was year 1042 when it was there. After huge quantities of Irish beer it set off for home. This time south of England. The route was planned considering prevailing wind-conditions.
12-26: Another from the golf course on Wednesday morning. There was a heavy frost on the trees which, in this shot, was helping to pick up a glow from the sun.
Strange eyes in the woods. This is just good old fashioned red-eye from flash. I'm amazed how much light bounces back from this great-horned owl's eyes. A different shot taken the same evening as one I posted a few weeks ago.
