September 5, 2015 This is our friend Nena. She and her husband Dennis went with Bill and I on our two-week adventure in Alaska. We had such a great time. As mentioned, we took a helicopter ride to the top of Mendenhall Glacier and visited a camp where young people spend about 9 months a year training sled dogs. And while we were there we had the good fortune to get to see and cuddle some new puppies. They were just the cutest, and one of the many neat things about this particular part of the adventure on top of the glacier. Thank you for your comments and critiques! "There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face." ~ Bernard Williams Have a delightful day today my friends! Linda http://lgood.smugmug.com
9/5/15 - Acadia National Park, Maine...at the Thunderhole; note the gull with the shrimp (really only shows up when you view the original size shot). Thanks everyone who commented on my shot of the volunteer at the Puffin Project. Yes, they are the funny little birds that look a lot like penquins. Most people think they are much larger birds, but they are quite small.

04.09.15 - Hidden Corners This is from my guided photo walk round old Lincoln last night. We covered that wonderful period around dusk when the light changes every few minutes. Having photographed this part of town so many times I am always on the look out for new views and perspectives. This is a view of Lincoln Cathedral that I've never shot before. It is all too easy to feature the main towers or the magnificent west front, but there are many other wonderful features.
Day 247: Abstract - Pipe Dreams. - Sept 4. A little photo play after being inside all day with contractors replacing pipes behind two of my walls and those of my neighbor across the hall. No chance to get outside so took a couple photos of the shiny new copper piping. Tues. the crew will be back to insulate the pipes and hopefully close the walls back up. This is part of a large-scale project to replace the pipe lines in all apartments on all floors. I must say the crews doing the work are doing a great job - on schedule, careful, considerate and clean up before they leave.

September 5, 2015 W e are a custom woodworking studio. Architect's drawings, designers' sketches or client's ideas are refined for construction and produced in their choice of materials. Solid hardwoods, architecturally matched veneers and colored lacquers are blended to create our clients dreams. Specialty woods such as vintage reclaimed long leaf pine, vertical grain fir and wormy quartersawn white oak are some of the distinctive woods that we utilize. Curly maple, quatersawn maple and top grade cherry veneers are but a few of the dozens of species that we hand select to be laid up for our customers' projects. We prefer clear, flat lacquer finishes that allow our outstanding material selection to stand out. It a color or stain has to be matched, we employ an industrial mixing service to insure quality matches. Our projects range from large, such as restaurants and law offices, to medium such as kitchens and renovations, to small such as the line of museum furniture we produce for a long term client. We take great pride in our work, no matter how large or small the project. Our close attention to detail, use of quality materials and the time we are willing to devote is quite evident in every piece that leaves our shop. Our customers love to see the finished product, knowing they have a superbly built creation they will treasure for years to come. http://newoxfordstudios.com
9/1/15 - This gentleman is having a little nap on a downtown Boston lawn. His suitcase is nearby, so, I assume he is a tourist in need of rest. Thanks for your comments on my shot of the rays through the clouds.
9/4/15 - The Audobon Puffin Project is reestabllishing puffins in Maine on various islands, including Egg Island. Notice the volunteer researcher who is being mobbed by the birds. The puffins nest in crevasses and little caves in the rocks. Note the silhouette of another researcher in the blind. You can see the blinds are held down by ropes. And you can see the solar panels near one of the blinds. The shot was made from a moving boat offshore a ways. Thanks to those who commented on my shot of the islands off the coast of Maine.
8/30/15 - Hummingbird scratching Thanks for your comments on my shot of the raindrops on the windshield with the rainbow in the background.
8/31/15 - Rays shooting out of the clouds in multiple directions Thanks for your comments on my shot of the hummer scratching.
Sunset - 10 stop ND filter. Taken near Olympia, Wa. Update: thank you for the comments and suggestions. It was too dark so I have increased the exposure and adjusted the crop. I will post some different shots from the same night that won't be so dark. I appreciate the suggestions.
