050211 Tree in Shohola Falls Long week last week with the shutter failing on my Nikon D50 and computer problems at work. Took a drive to Delaware Water Gap over the weekend to get away. Trying to adjust to my D60 but I liked my older camera.
Dance on the beach. Our small island "Fanoe" is a National park. To celebrate this, 30 or more young people, all in white, arranged a happening on the beach. Now it is pronounced to be a World Heritage due to its unique nature. We are 3200 inhabitants and are all proud of this nomination. Kresten Refslund
Hey all! I didn't have much time to comment - nor take photos today. It just seems like life sometimes gets in the way of our fun times more often than we'd like. This is another shot of the prickly pear blooms in the back yard with my new macro lens. Thanks to evryone for your comments and encouragement on my photos. Hope you enjoy this shot - I personally love their flowers, buds and stalks and their beauiful colors. Headed to 3 car shows on Saturday & Sunday - so look for more car photos in the coming days!. Smug Muggers Rock!! Linda Good (lgood @ smugmug) personal email Noelxgood@sbcglobal.net Thanks for all you kind comments on my dailies. Have a fabulous evening. 11/23/10 - Tree in the Fog I have been watching and studying this tree for a couple of years now. Whenever there is fog, it seems to stand out from the backdrop...a solitary, lonely figure. I finally made up my mind yesterday to figure out where to park the car to get out to take a picture...not a small feat. I do try to stay safe, but this location is more precarious than some. Most days I am joyful as I spend time with the kids. My life is full of laughter and color; it's vibrant and full of life like many of my pictures. But some days at least deep inside it is like this too. I guess a bit of that side is slipping through today. I stopped to think about my mother for a few minutes when I took this. She was involved in a horrible traffic accident with a tractor trailer on a foggy morning in November just before Thanksgiving in 1985. For me, the fog will always be more than just the fog. Back to bright and cheery tomorrow I promise... Thanks for your comments on Johnny and the Jon boat. It was as serene out there as you thought. Little wind, warm sun on our skin, very few boats out on the lake...a calming hour without the chaos of life. HAGD, Maryann

3rd year Pic 174 - Mar 03 2011 awaiting... Mahabaleshwar Market This is old lady was asking for alms at the weekly market. Her belly looks big because poor women tend to keep their precious belongings or day's earnings in a small pouch tied to the waist and then covered by the saree. Cotton-grass grows in wetlands. They are app. 30 cm (1 ft) high, so I got wet elbows and stomach to catch them at this angle

9.2.09 - Snow and Rain We woke up to fresh snow again this morning, and although it was cold it was quite a pleasant day. That is, until I decided to go out and get a Daily. I had hoped to take some night snow shots around the Cathedral, but it was raining heavily! The last time I took some photos here I got a ghostly biker zooming through the shot, tonight it was a bedraggled walker. Apart from a crop to get rid of boring foreground this is straight out of camera. Despite me standing over it with an umbrella some rain managed to get on the lens, but I think it adds to the watery scene (well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it). For those that like to keep an eye on our Monday Challenges mine is here; http://www.lightanddreamsphotography.com/gallery/7093288_hSxt4#470456288_tRiRP
