Iman Mosque at night Iman Mosque (Shah Mosque, 1611-1629). This magnificent UNESCO World Heritage site is lit up after dark and the effect is magical as the lights on the tiles turned everything blue and gold. The key to reproducing the colours as I saw them was to use tungsten light colour balance, otherwise everything had a nasty yellow cast. 1942 International Truck - Image has been enhance in Topaz Adjust Bold (modify) I like this look on my images of old trucks, for some reason it tells a story better of the truck's pass.
Bad Hair Day!!!! About my post from yesterday..the bluejay was actually sunning! i looked it up on a birding site and it explained why birds sun..it helps keep their feathers healthy and it can also rid them of parasites...I see them do it all the time, but I never new exactly why they were doing it..very interesting!
6/30/15 - A little conservatory at the Denver Botanic Garden. I love all the beautiful wrought iron work and the overall design. I'm not even sure conservatory is the right term for this little gem. Thanks for your comments on my shot of the peonies. I really appreciate your taking the time to leave a comment.

Castle for Sale The Kranichberg Castle is on a pass in the hills about an hour and a half south of Vienna. Originally built in the early 13th century, it was privately purchased and renovated into a four-star hotel and restaurant and conference center. The owner died and his daughters have their own lives and families, so it has been on the market since 2009. The asking price is only 3.5 million Euro. This is the fate of many renovated and privately owned castles now.
29.06.15 - National Champions (2) As promised yesterday here is a collage of shots from the men's race at the National Cycling Championships on Sunday. The race was even more exciting than the women's one earlier, and was only decided on the final climb up the steep cobbles when Peter Kennaugh managed to shake off Mark Cavendish. "Cav" is the better known rider with his incredible 25 stage victories on the Tour de France, but he is really a sprinter and the climbs didn't suit his style so well. In less than a week the top riders here will be in France for Le Tour, hopefully Lincoln was a nice warm up for them. This was by far the biggest sporting event to come to my hometown in my lifetime, it was a pleasure to be there and photograph it, I'll probably not see anything like it again in my life. These are heady days for British cycling, we've been the best on the world for several years now and the crowds are huge. Some information on the pics; the central one is Newport Arch, the only Roman archway in Britain that still has traffic going through it. Bottom right is the (in)famous bird of paradise flower building, a private residence that attracts strong views for and against it!
Doing a little bit of Rim Lighting Photography . . .
