Masses of delphiniums in bloom make an impressive show, especially the intense blue cultivars. Viewed up close, a stalk of delphiniums just looks kind of messy to my eyes. But this variety holds an interesting surprise, with its white stripes at the center of each bloom. Unfortunately, there wasn't a label to identify the variety. July 10, 2014 This wonderful 1934 Three Window Coupe was just a true beauty. The hot and high sun made the reflections and shadows tough to shoot, but it is what it is. :-) "To attract men, I wear a perfume called 'New Car Interior.' " ~ Rita Rudner Although this is far from a new car, I liked the quote. It made me laugh. Who doesn't love the smell of new car interiors? Hope you all got a little giggle out of the quote today, take care and smile. Sorry I wasn't able to comment yesterday, but duty called me and kept my nose to the Grindstone until late last night. I'll try to comment tonight. Thank you all for your comments and critiques. They are. very much appreciated. Linda http://lgood.smugmug.com
Guess where I am! I have some time off from working, so am seeing the sights. Difficult to get shots without tourists in the picture.

09.07.14 - Wheatfield Abstract This is from a photo walk I led across the fields south of Lincoln yesterday afternoon. I know this area so well and can't believe how many local people have never explored the field paths right behind their homes. So I have started to offer these guided walks, aimed at photographers but anyone is welcome to join us. I give some tuition on photography too, and encourage people to look a little bit harder than usual and use their cameras more creatively. Here I used the 200mm lens and very shallow depth of field to create this abstract image of a simple wheat field in the sunshine. Check out my gallery from the walk here, including some incredible big skyscapes; http://johnloguk.smugmug.com/Nature/LINCOLN-PHOTO-WALK-090714/42814099_HZCxPr#!i=3375707788&k=p8LVSmJ

7/10/14 - How's this for fancy transportation? This unusual work of art is at the Texas Fine Art Museum in Corpus Christi. The detail is pretty neat in the largest size. With regard to the discussion about folks posting more than one comment on a photo, I sometimes have trouble with posting comments. When I make a single click, the comment will not post. In order to get the comment to post, I will have to doubleclick. When I do that, the comment posts twice. I don't like to do this, but, occasionally, it is the only way I can get my comments to post. I don't know if the problem is with smugmug or with my internet access. So, if you see that I have posted two comments to an image, this is what has happened. Is this happening with anyone else? I'm certainly not doing it to try to manipulate the ratings! Thanks for your comments on my shot of the sculptor of the Indian maiden at Sandfest. On most of the pro scultures, there was a single sculptor. I think there were about two sculptures that had a couple who were creating the sculpture. Unfortunately, I cannot post shots of the totally completed shots, as we had to leave before the 5:00 p.m. deadline. Sorry about that!
July 10, 2014 Sticking with yesterdays post, here is the second quilt, these two quilts are on my drive home. This Churn Dash quilt is located at: Trenton Mill Farms ~ 405 Hanover Pike, Hampstead, MD The American Quilt Trail Movement: http://barnquiltinfo.com
