Awww...how cute are they?? Found these cuties at Green Mountain Falls in Colorado.
6/30/15 - Some more iris and a bee; needs to be viewed in the largest size to really see the bee. Thanks for your comments on my shot of the little conservatory. I'm glad so many of you thought it is as pretty as I do.
Contentment Jul 1 This is the same heron that i posted last Friday during his preening session. I guess he is content now with all feathers properly placed.
07.01.15 When Piggy-Banks Fly I know that the phrase "when pigs fly" is used to mean something won't happen. Never. What is the meaning when a piggy bank flies? And is this a good thing or bad thing.
Church Hill This is a shot of St. Wolfgang's Church on the Kirchberg in the Wechsel hills south of Vienna. The original church was mentioned in 970 but the present building is from the 16th century. It has been ruined twice - once on purpose (1782 Emperor Josef I declared it and a lot of other churches 'unnecessary') and once by lightning strike in 1918. It has always been a pilgrimage church, not a local church.
July 1 - One more view of the Lettie. G Howard as she passes the decommissioned USS John F. Kennedy at the Naval Inactive Ship Maintenance Facility in Philadelphia.
July 1 2015 Celebrating My birthday is tomorrow but we had the family celebration on Sunday. We stopped for this picture after dinner. My ten year old granddaughter Lindsey took this with my heavy DSLR. I think she's got it.
July 1, 2015 July already? My goodness, it seems this year is just flying by. However, I'm glad that it's July, because now our vacation to Alaska is just 11 days away! Yay. That's the good news. The bad news is I found out last week that the day after we get home from our two week vacation, I have to climb on another plane and fly to Europe for a week of business meetings. Since I'll be cooped up inside all day every day, it's doubtful that I'll get a lot of photos while in Spain, but I will try. This scene in the back part (what he calls the "dirty part") of Bill's home workshop. This scene caught my eye the day I saw it because of the colors in the fork lift and the ladder were pretty and those colors were surrounded by the drab gray-ness of the walls, ceilings and floors. I hope you enjoy this shot of where Bill spends his days. "It is the working man who is the happy man. It is the idle man who is the miserable man." ~ Benjamin Franklin And, off to work I go! :-) Have a great and productive day today my friends. Thank you for your comments and critiques. June 28, 2015 Power in the Prairies Southern Alberta * We have decided to vacation in Southern Alberta this year. Our last trip there was in 2009. There will be many great photo opportunities on my journey, including many wind farms. I can't wait!!!

07-01-2015 "By the Stream" Another photo from my yard. For those of you interested in the magazine article of my deck and yard, it is now online. You can view it at stagesmississippi.com in the July/August issue. It begins on page 50. I'm sure you will enjoy going through the complete issue and seeing a lot about Mississippi. Thank you for taking the time to comment on my photos. Donna
Wednesday, July 1, 2015 "SOUTHERN MAGNOLIA LEAVES" "If you are bitter, you are like a dry leaf that you can just squash, and you can get blown away by the wind. There is much more wisdom in forgiveness." ~ Vusi Mahlasela July, already? Where did June go? At the time of this photo, there was not a Southern Magnolia fower in sight on this tree in our next door neighbor's front yard. Photographed with my Nikon 70-300 mm lens that I hadn't used in a long time. It's a heavy beast, but it's versatile and gets the job done. Have a wonderful Wednesday!
