September 23, 2007 Fog in the forest.
Yesterday I woke up at sunrise. The sun was barely over the horizon at southeast. As I looked out of my bedroom window I saw this landscape to the northwest with the full moon as a golden coin. I at once grabbed my camera, opened the window even as the temperature was minus 10° centigrade and made some shots. Here is one of them. 10 minutes later the sun was well over the horizon, the sky was lit and the moon hardly to be seen.
I got a new camera! I have been working with a Nikon D40 and am now celebrating my upgrade to a D90. Kinda needed to though. My D40 is in the shop....and I have photos to take, darn it. Over the Holidays I was reading the Twilight series *sigh*...(I know, I know...already to much information;)And finally saw the movie. Then a couple nights ago, I watched Sweeney Todd. I was amazed by the lighting, the colors, contrast of both movies. I love the hair and costume design in Sweeney Todd... I became inspired....and this was my result... ****Thank you very much for all of the Awesome comments. I must admit though, this is a self portrait. Yup. Me, my camera, tri-pod, and a touch of inspirado.....********
2-22: This is another from a sunset a few weeks ago. I like this one because as you look at the clouds from west to east you can see the color vary from more orange to more pink
9.2.09 - Snow and Rain We woke up to fresh snow again this morning, and although it was cold it was quite a pleasant day. That is, until I decided to go out and get a Daily. I had hoped to take some night snow shots around the Cathedral, but it was raining heavily! The last time I took some photos here I got a ghostly biker zooming through the shot, tonight it was a bedraggled walker. Apart from a crop to get rid of boring foreground this is straight out of camera. Despite me standing over it with an umbrella some rain managed to get on the lens, but I think it adds to the watery scene (well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it). For those that like to keep an eye on our Monday Challenges mine is here; http://www.lightanddreamsphotography.com/gallery/7093288_hSxt4#470456288_tRiRP
2-05: Another from Monday evening. I was actually hurrying to get to another location and kinda liked the look here so I snapped off a few shots. I think it sorta looks like fall colors on the trees
1-23: Quite a dramatic view of the out house near River Bend ponds. I never posted the color version but I like the B&W better. It looks like it's out in the middle of nowhere but actually it's pretty close to the parking lot - I have to walk passed it to get back to my car. This was taken shortly after sundown a couple of weeks ago.
2-23: I woke up at 5:30 Sunday morning thinking about work and a task I'm supposed to finish soon so I decided to go to work for a while. I know it sounds really sad but it did give me an opportunity to take some pictures! This was taken near the Arapaho Bend natural area just down the hill from HP. I like the morning light on the grass
Rhapsody in blue
An early October snowstorm in Colorado Springs; best viewed in the larger sizes. I think it is always challenging to try to capture the actual snow falling so that it looks natural. In the largest sizes, you can really see the snow falling, so I was pleased with this. I sure appreciated your comments on my shot of the snow at the hospital parking lot. This community is always so encouraging. Hope you had a good weekend!
The Grid - October 16, 2011
August 23, 2011 hi everyone! Thanks for all of the great comments. We are loving the weather and low daily highs of around 80 degrees in New Mexico. The vacation is going great. Many times we are in areas with no cell coverage - which is ok, except that I also don't have the use of my iPad to comment with. So forgive me for the sparse comments. This is a shot of the floor of the Texas State capital building in Austin, Texas. It was taken a couple of months ago but I really liked how it was a little off kilter. Check it out in X2 - I think you'll enjoy the details.
Cotton-grass grows in wetlands. They are app. 30 cm (1 ft) high, so I got wet elbows and stomach to catch them at this angle
Frozen Tobolsk Kremlin. (1.2.2012) Off to Rome tomorrow afternoon so may be MIA the rest of the week. Hope everyone's enjoyed their holidays & renewed for a fresh start to 2012.
